Rankings are a mess, teams aren't as good, refs SUCK, nobody is allowed to tackle properly anymore, and everything is blatantly political now. I am the only one who thinks it took a big dumpster dive this year?

In terms of entertainment? Nah. Lots of close games that were fun to watch. Maybe more so than any other year.

Quality of football? Yeah. Some bad, bad football out there.

I agree. CF is a shell of its former self.

This year has been very entertaining.

I just wish coaches would put the kids in their place. NIL has these kids reeking of entitlement.

Agree with OP

And this is a good way to expound on that:

Penn State is about to play Oregon for a conference championship.

I rest my case.

After our dominating performance against EKU in the season opener, it got real sad for me.

This has been one of the best, most entertaining seasons ever and it’s a direct result of the playoffs. So many teams would be zombies by now but instead all the games have become meaningful. Even stupid TN vs Vandy mattered.

The targeting rule has to be addressed. When a runner lowers his head to initiate contact it's total bs that the defender gets punished for making the tackle.

It has been a slow motion dive into the dumpster for years now.

agree with all points.

But one good thing ... the melts this year (and including the election as well here) have been off the charts unbelievably great

It's not been all bad.

The quality of play definitely went down across the board. Every team laid a stinker at some point.

It started before this year. The rule committee just basically shoved it on down in the mud. They want a NFL model without a salary cap and no rules tying players to the schools.

The playoff will not work with their model til they have direct pathes to the 12 spots like the NFL.

NIL and Transfer Portal have killed college football. Some players are making more than their coach's.

Yeah but that's because NIL in the portal have leveled the playing field for a lot of teams.

As others have stated that's the biggest gripe is NIL not having any real type of governance. Needs to have a cap in place in my opinion.. then the portal is getting ridiculous people just bouncing all over the place multiple times.

And don't get me started on the whole I'm going to sit out the season since you ain't going to pay me.
