I think the SEC being a big bad villain (think yankees back in the day) is better for college football. It brings interest to any game that involves SEC vs non-sec. Might it hurt the title game? Sure. But does it help every other bowl game? Yes. The more people hate the SEC, the more they tune in to try and catch an SEC team lose, especially games like the bowl games and the early season matchups. Those benefits probably outweigh the drawback for the one title game.

Why should I be concerned with tv ratings?

I know the ratings are high when LSU plays, because LSU has the best runningback in America

Everything that is wrong about college football right there.

The rest of the country only watches their own. The South, OTOH, watches all games whether we are in them or not. It's hard to blame us for being good fans who love CFB and producing great teams. It seems to me the rest of the country needs to broaden their horizons a bit and watch teams outside of their region.

#1 LSU and their stifling defense vs #2 and Big 12 Champ Okla State with their high-powered offense would have been epic in Jan. '12.

I don't understand why this got so many down votes. You're 100 percent correct.

I literally, and I meant that in the literal sense of the word literally, don't give 2 giant shats what is better for CFB.

what did you say- i couldn't hear for your underachieving?

No, you couldn't hear me due to the loud cheering up in Fayetteville over a season with *only* 5 losses.
