WE... WE??? LOL!!! Anything WE make.. What about "you know Cam played for free for so long, I'm just glad he's now able to enjoy the professional side of sports. To get paid for something he loves to do"
But no... WE got to be PAID!!! "MAKE ME SMILE PEOPLE!"

....Cecil Newton is confident NFL Players Association director DeMaurice Smith will
"protect the interest of not only the first
player picked but Mr. Irrelevant as well."
Nice to know that within that money-grubbing
ministerial heart of his, Cecil has concern
for all the irrelevants beyond his Entertainer
& Icon.

well an innocent person would be like yeah we did it the right way and did not take any money to play for pay. I guess there really is something to Joe Schads report that he went to Cecil's house in the ghetto next to an airport and he had a truck worth than his house.
The lord works in mysterious ways, especially when it came to a 200 thousand dollar check payable to his church via Auburn University.

I'll give you a thousand dollars if you can provide a link from Schad regarding an expensive truck for Cecil.
The fact that no report has come out suggesting Cecil all of a sudden got an influx of money makes me feel good that he wasn't paid 200k.
Lord knows if there was ANY indication that the Newtons all of a sudden got some money, SBB and others would've been all over it.

Nah.. no need. We have CECIL saying enough! LOL.
WHAT IF!!! follow me on this. Why have we not heard anything from Cecil? Why NOW? Is it because the NFL is on lock out and Cammy cam cam has no money for pops??
Is this the beginning of an AU shake down???
You know he has gotten like 50 calls from Jacobs and ChizFiz and Lawyers.
You might need to pay him more til Camy cam cam can make pops WE money!

Cry me a fricking river Cecil. Up until last year Cam hadn't done a damn thing to deserve to get paid. When the frick should he have gotten paid, when he was holding Tebow's clip board at UF or when he was in juco?
I don't get this mentality that once successful, you should have to support your whole fricking freeloading family. Apparently Cecil is planning to sit on his arse and sponge off of Cam.

That is not where his house is at all. Did you not watch the "year of the QB" ESPN thing where they documented the life of Newton? They have a decent house, it's not in the ghetto

I know exactly where his house is at. It is a few miles away from the ATL airport.

He said the NCAA has the truth, the truth is Cam received no money. When you take what our compliance person, Jay Jacobs, and Gene Chizik have all said, then I believe it is an indication that Auburn is clean. There is just too much talk to believe otherwise.
Posted on 7/1/11 at 7:06 am to auburntiger77
You cant truly believe that Auburn is clean dealing with these thugs who profess to preach. The comment that WE have not received money does not presuppose that he did not receive money. Again, why cant the Newtons simply say in a clear way that they have not received anything of value for his promise to play for AU. I believe that they have had explained to them that a lie to feds will send them to jail. Recruiting violations only affect AU and potentially coaches. This is the reason I believe that they continue to speak in this confusing language.

Did you read the article? He didn't say he should of been paid prior to being in the NFL.

That's YOUR assumption. Only AU fans ever state that. Not even CECIL will say that.

Did you read the whole article?
If you go back to the article that you're quoting you'll see a completely different take:
Cecil Newton is confident the NCAA will find no other improprieties. "We really just want it to calm down, let the smoke settle, let the dust settle," Newton said Thursday in a rare interview. "The truth is out there. They have it in their files."
"I don't really want to go back and rehash that and speak along the lines of what I did or didn't do, what was said, what should have been said. I really don't even want to open that can of worms... I've been transparent throughout the whole process."
And the reason he answered it that way, is because Cecil never solicited anything from anyone. If you go read the articles where Cecil "admits solicitation", it clearly says he HAD CONVERSATIONS about money with Kenny Rogers. That DOESN'T MEAN that Cecil is the one that asked for money.
https://www.wsbtv.com/sports/25778803/detail.html
"a source close to the situation exclusively told channel 2 action news investigative reporter Mark Winne that the player's father, Cecil Newton, has admitted having conversations with an ex-Mississippi State University player about the possibility of under-the-table money if Cam Newton signed to play football at Mississippi State, though he's steadfastly maintained that no money ever changed hands and said no official at Mississippi State ever made such an offer."
Conversations DOES NOT MEAN CECIL SOLICITED THE MONEY.
CECIL NEWTON DID NOT SOLICIT MONEY FROM MISSISSIPPI STATE. Kenny Rogers tried to buy Cecil. Cecil discussed it with Kenny, and decided instead to encourage his son to go to a CLEAN PROGRAM at Auburn, and it looks like it was a brilliant move as his son had one of the greatest seasons in NCAA history, won a National Championship, and won the Heisman Trophy. Then when the controversy came about Cecil took the controversy on himself instead of letting it fall on Cam. He allowed the morons in the media to vilify him to protect his son.

He said the NCAA has the truth. The NCAA has already said they have not found where AU paid Newton anything. A=B B=C A=C do the math.
