with UF

UCF's strength of schedule -- or lack thereof -- has been one of the primary reasons that the Knights were never seriously considered for spots in the last two editions of the College Football Playoff, despite unblemished records in both seasons. Knights athletic director Danny White isn't interested in beefing it up with a traditional in-state power.

That's kind of my thought - by the time this series would be played UCF is probably back to being a mid-level group of five team already.

UCF has been scheduling home / home games with mid tier P5 conference opponents

To give a 2 for 1 to a Florida program in the dumps is pretty absurd

That's what it takes to elevate the program. They're not going to give a home and home with UCF because UCF isn't a great program. Florida is doing UCF a huge favor by offering them the two fer, because they have nothing to gain by playing them.

The UCF administration and fanbase is too stupid to realize it.

it's also why they're "relevant"

One loss to a big boy and everyone's opinion on them is validated and they are back to square one. UCF has more to lose than anyone this bowl season.

Their AD understands that they aren't on the same level as the big schools. He also understands that one loss against a team like Florida will have a greater impact than one win against a team like Florida. They could've beaten UF on the road this year and still be at home for the playoff. On the flip side, had they lost, nobody would give a single frick about UCF outside of Orlando.

They're dangerous to a team like LSU because their players don't realize what's at stake, they are still the underdog with a chip on their shoulder. The athletic department has been full pucker since that announcement though.

miss State could have an FCS schedule for the past 100 years and would still have ZERO championships to show for it.

The more I read the more I think Florida shouldn’t have even extended an offer. Period.

Just like UCF.

Two thirds of the SEC would be undefeated with UCF's schedule. That's why nobody gives a shite about UCF.

I don’t understand why they won’t schedule UF. If UCF wins a game, that would attract recruits. They don’t even have to really win. Just have a good showing and you’ll put yourself in a positive light.
