Forecasters at the NHC said Ida could bring winds as high as 140 mph by the time it slams ashore.
A hurricane warning is in effect from Intracoastal City to the mouth of the Pearl River, and a hurricane watch extends to the Mississippi-Alabama border.
The NHC said rapid strengthening of the storm is expected in the next 24 to 36 hours, and predicted Ida to be “an extremely dangerous major hurricane” when it reaches the coast late Sunday or early Monday.
Stay safe, Louisiana/Gulf Coast baws

Does it have its covid passport? That could cause issues.

Why the hell would anyone want to live in Louisiana?

Yeah, my buddy's parents just moved back in to their place in Lake Charles last week

I volunteered in Charleston after Hugo went through. Never asked that question of SC.

It will be a strong 3 or 4.

Dang, hopefully it doesn't get too organized and can stay a low level storm.

I've lived in South Carolina my entire life (33 years old), and the worst hurricane we've had since I've been alive was Hugo. I slept through it, though my dad can tell me how scary it was and does every hurricane season. SC and LA aren't comparable in the slightest.

I hate to hear this. I enjoy my time and the people I work with there.

You are coming across a douchebag here bro. Some people choose to live in places that are more prone to natural disasters, some less fortunate ones may not have as many options.

Let's pray it won't.
Like H2O Tiger said, some of those areas have been hit multiple times recently, and that would presumably be devastating to some.

Hey you guys in LA stay safe.
Make sure you’re wearing your mask and social distance to keep everyone safe.

Just hope people heed the warnings and get out. If it stays on this course it'll absolutely drill Lafayette

Kicking my own arse right now for having put off the installation of the whole-house generator. Time to fill up a few 5-gallon gas containers.
