We got this.... Going pick up my hurricane snacks tonight with plenty of water.

Good luck, hopefully it doesn't get too strong.

even when the power goes out for less than an hour, I can hear it kick on automatically. That's what I need.

I think theirs kicks on once it senses no power for more than 5-10 seconds. They live on a small, dead-end street (5 houses) so their power is usually the last to get restored.

that entire region from the west side of LA all the way to the panhandle of Florida seems to be the most common path for gulf hurricanes, and even ones that come in from the Atlantic/Carribean.
It's like a catchers mitt, and LA is the sweet spot.
Taking information known for generations among people of the Gulf States and acting as if this is some new revelation of yours does not endear you to folks who've seen their entire house underwater.

Oh yeah it kicks on pretty quick. But when the power only goes out for that long, I'm not going to bother getting out my portable etc.

Meanwhile, they have power the entire time.

I’d rather live in La than with the ignorant rednecks in SC. And for the record SC has had their share of hurricanes too

Why the hell would anyone want to live in Louisiana?

I'm sure you would do so much to bump up their statistics if you moved in, SCGamecock born on Feb. 9, 1988.

I don't think 3down10 intended to act like a wise guy with his post.

What a Pussy. Bet you miss those nights at Angola since you moved.
The next time you and a good bit of your surrounding community loose everything in a natural disaster, please feel free to comment on the generic drivel opinions of any mensas who weren't involved.

The people of La have shown great courage, strength and loyalty to their state. They don’t move and they don’t ask for pity. After every hurricane or flood they pick themselves up and carry on. I admire them for that

Let's pray it won't.

Like H2O Tiger said, some of those areas have been hit multiple times recently, and that would presumably be devastating to some.

For sure, I don't want it to happen, but it's going to be a 3/4 and swing East towards the MS/AL line.

Hate when I do that in a serious post. Stomps on credibility when I see that. Doesn't change the sentiment though. I wouldn't piss on that dude if his guts were on fire.
