The thinking is that eventually they won't come through, and it'll bite you in the arse.
"Bend but don't break" usually means bad defense that hasn't cost you yet.

As far as rushing goes you averaged a grand total of half a yard more than we did. Congrats. You also had an rb take his first snap on our team average 5.6 ypc against you and would have had a td if that garbage ref crew didn't screw him.

It's much more about people devaluing the East than believing SC is some elite team.

This. We don't think we are some world beater, we just haven't seen anyone besides clemson on our schedule do anything that would make us say, "oh well thats definitely a loss."

All valid points. If USC can get a special teams TD and 2+ turnovers every game you should win 10 games.

I personally would pick Georgia or Florida to win the east. I only mention Florida because they are the team Georgia usually loses or chokes against

If any thing is going to bite SC in the @$$, it won't be the things folks are stating in this thread.
It's the fact that they only have 76 scholarship players on the roster right now. Attrition is going to kill them down the stretch.
I think the point is, not that SC is some world beater team, but thru 1/6 of the season, they look vastly improved over the past 2-3 years. Still a long way to go.

Depth is my biggest concern as well.

Why doesn't Deebo touch the ball more? I was shocked he only had 6 touches on offense.
Why use him more than we have to?

Y'all have no idea the atmosphere you're walking into Saturday. The team will feed off of it and then they'll feed on you.

South Carolina Run game vs Mizzou
A couple of things jumped out at me in this video.
Mizzou played better against the run in the 1st half. Lots of 1-2 yard runs, no gain's and TFLs. After they got behind, they kinda quit in the 2nd half.
Also, it has not been mentioned that SC is breaking in a new OL line coach, Eric Wolford. Long time O-line coach and former interim Head Coach after SOS left, Sean Elliot left to coach Georgia State after last season.
The point being that there was a change in both philosophy and technique that their guys are using this year.

Precisely. Name me one bend-but-don't-break defense that didn't eventually break. If you have a good D, you stop them all over the field, not just in the red zone. If you don't, you call it BBDB. I call it fortunate, but fortunate doesn't last.

USC can't run the ball this year.
Gamecock RBs ran for 142 yards on 33 carries, 21 times for 120 yards in the 2H.

Meh I'm fine with people liking South Carolinas chances. They've played two Div I opponents and won both games. The obvious favorite is Georgia though, especially after beating the Golden Irrelevant's on the road. This early in the year I don't expect anyone to look polished.

of course they eventually break. We're not out here with opponents throwing up goose eggs. And no one said anything about having a good defense. We're playing bend don't break solely to not make the offenses job any harder than it needs to be. The main issue ITT is posters, such as yourself, making claims as if they were said by Carolina fans when they weren't.
Point Blank: if you aren't a Bama, Clemson, or Oklahoma fan, your team hasn't beaten anyone and all smack talk is purely speculative at this point.
