Every city has places like that. Even Cleveland has nice places to go. Considered in total, Mobile is awful.
I'd rather see it from the other side.

As much fun as watching y'all go from the 'Ship to playing Central Florida.

That's understandable. Fairhope is an awesome little town.

This ridiculous melt that few people will read aside, this is all fairly simple. The committee is tasked with putting the four 'best' teams in the playoff, not the most 'deserving.' Clearly, this is all subjective, but what is not subjective is that Alabama is/would be favored against all four playoff teams plus OSU (Bama is currently -1.5 vs Clemson). While lines are set based on a combination of team matchups AND anticipated human behavior, Vegas is nevertheless a better barometer over who the 'best' team is than any of the bullshite you, the committee, or anyone on this board will come up with. It could have gone either way. Neither Alabama nor OSU "deserved" to be in the playoff, but there is no valid argument that OSU is the "better" team. It's that simple.

Honestly, if UCF had hammered USF and Memphis and given up 17 and 24 points, I could have been ok with this.
Seeing a team like UCF as the #8 seed is my sole reasoning for wanting to see an 8 team playoff, honestly.
Group of of 5 schools who think they can compete in the CFP need to schedule good P5 opponents for ALL of their non-conference games and prove it. Otherwise, they should stfu and sit back down at the kids table.

Fairhope is awesome. Fairhope Tider is a good resource but I think he's attempting to build a border wall to keep people out at this point with all their growth. Might have to buy him off

So just for kicks and giggles, if said SEC is down, what choice does Alabama have except for playing their schedule? And if you are completely honest, everyone in the nation thought that FSU was at least top 5 when Alabama played them and it wasn't close. Doesn't really matter to me what FSU does after that game.
My proposal would be that there aren't any polls published before mid-season. Then let the games prior to the rankings being released be weighted after the fact. It's really only fair that the team gets credit for the ranking of the team they play at the time of game.

I agree with everything you're saying, but I think OSU is just more inconsistent. Honestly, Bama being in the playoff makes for a better playoff...
OSU has a lower floor than Alabama - does that make sense? (i.e. getting blown out by Iowa)
OSU could potentially get blown out by Clemson - I don't think you would say that about Alabama. Though, I do not think Alabama can beat Clemson.

Maybe so, but I'd still rather live there than Cleveland....or Toledo.....Or Akron....or Cincinnati.....or (throw a dart at a state map of Ohio).

Nah, I have a house in Navarre Beach. I'm just saying, I'd prefer Fairhope to Mobile.

Keep crying you 7SU fan. You're just mad Ed O hasn't taken you all to the playoffs this year and ontop of that losing to Troy and State was embarassing

Calm down, you're in the playoffs and got revenge on Auburn

Same. We'll probably end up there when I fully retire. I'd rather stay where we are, but my wife loves the beaches down there.

Navarre is nice because it's near things but it's not crowded like Orange Beach or Destin/Seaside.
We have a place on Perdido Key.

Yeah and Ohio State was behind by two touchdowns to Penn State.

And Bama was 1 or 2 13 out of 15 weeks by all of these polls. How can all of these people be so wrong?
