Can we get rid of the rules expert in broadcasts?

These old jagoffs due nothing but back up the stupid Fs on the field no matter obviously wrong they are.
They provide no benefit. And this is a problem across sports. I watch a lot of EPL and it’s the same shite over there. They all just back up their fraternity members.

I agree with this. In fact, if I was an announcer, especially one who played or coached, I'd be insulted. I mean, that's literally the reason they are calling games, because they are supposed to understand it and explain the nuances.

All they ever do is back up their ref buddies and even when it is an obviously blown call they will defend them.

The worst one is the Bill Lemonnier guy that works for ESPN/ABC (not to be confused with former SEC ref Matt Austin who also works for ESPN). Lemonnier is usually the rules expert for the Fowler/Herbstreit broadcast.
