People talk about down years in a conference all the time.

2020 was sec only and the conference had teams that were missing 25% of their rosters.

Then this gem about the playoff competition.

I love Alabama idiots.

Those road games sure were tough that year with no fans in the stands

Oh here we go.... the "we played an SEC only schedule" card. Well not counting bama.... the SEC only had FOUR teams that finished with an above .500 record. Point is.... that year the SEC SUCKED!

It turns out a good chunk of what bridges the gap between raw recruiting talent and on-field performance is having Spring Practice to develop players. Will always be an * year for that reason.

You would think that if you actually know someone... then the phone would ring.

Interesting.

95 Nebraska.

There are 2 sides to the ball and LSU did not have an elite defense which shows up in the MOV of multiple games.

Yeah, it's totally unfair that Alabama got special treatment. It was magically a difficult season for everyone but Alabama.

fricking loser.

You do realize that the in conference record always equals out to .500 overall right?

Not debatable. LSU 2019 is undoubtedly the best, and the players continue to prove it at the next level each year. 2020 Bama is in a small group of asterisk teams due to the season being screwed up for everyone. It would have been a really good team most usual seasons, but we will never know if it was elite or just good enough.

Maybe, but I, and a lot of other people, didn't see any of it.

2019 was certainly more entertaining and more exciting.

But yeah, congrats on beating that 5-win team for the title, I guess.

Frick no. Down vote all you want but I take 2011 version of Alabama and lsu over the 2019 and 2020 LSu and Alabama teams. 2019 defense and 2020 defenses were serviceable at best. Yes they improved but they didn’t have near the dogs that those two teams had. Better QBs and WR sure better overall talent and team performance 2011 and it isn’t close.

And Burrow is still the GOAT college QB hands down

Fantastic season but no, defense was way too mediocre to compete with other champs, in the playoffs they drew a an abysmal ou team that only got there through playing a soft(even by big 12 standards) schedule and got to play a banged up clemson team(from an equally unimpressive acc) with backups from the previous year. Great season tho
