Gee Whillikers! why some fans have to pump themselves up by saying the other teams aren't any good cause they haven't beaten anyone. and then when their team loses, it was a "fluke", "refs", etc. excuse after excuse.

fact is, all over the country, esp. in the SEC, there are lots of good teams with good coaches, etc, who don't lie down out there on the football field.

Florida is coming up for LSU. Florida has a good team on a roll. I expect LSU to win because of the huge advantage of Florida having to play in Tiger Stadium with a young team and esp. a redshirt freshmen at QB. not that he'll be intimidated, it's just that much harder to play offense with 100K fans yelling every time you get to the line of scrimmage.

2 good teams going at each other. I recognize that Florida is capable of beating LSU. Give them credit.

I just don't feel any need to thump my chest and berate Florida. or anyone else.

Heck, if another team is really bad, I feel sorry for them. I don't want to kick them when they're down.

This sounds like a Bama/LSU/A&M type of thread

I can admit that every team in the SEC is likely better than mine except Vandy and that's a toss-up.

Then this forum is probably not for you.

This is the shite-talkin'-est board that I've ever seen.

It really knows no bounds. The Aggies alone almost make it unbearable.

Heck ... you've got Barn people still talkin' shite this season ... think about that.

I've gotten the impression that a lot of people use this board to shite talk and have actual cfb discussions elsewhere. I know there is some overlap between this board and reddit's college football forum.

/r/cfb can be a great place to discuss football. The only thing I don't like about it is that if you don't complement the team you are about to comment on, you'll be down voted to hell.

For instance, if you'd like to say "Oregon does not have the offense to make a run at the playoffs this year" you'd be down voted. If you say "Oregon has been a fantastic offensive giant that is rebuilding their talent this year, I see them barely missing the playoffs but should be poised again next season," you'll get discussion.

The real problem is that some folks are in denial that their teams suck.

I like smack talk , but I never say teams suck as smack talk. Using the word "suck" as liberally as people do seems idiotic. The thing that strikes me is just how little separation there is between teams. How can anyone say, e.g., "Arkansas sucks" when they hung tough with Alabama and all their 5 star players for 3 quarters?

Agree. How can you say Arky sucks when they only lost to Bama by 13, took A&M to OT, beat UT on road, and beat LSU 17-0? You'd be crazy to say they suck given that info.
