They’re going to need another coach.

Have you seen his contract? The answer is yes.

Blame Muschamp for the shitpile of a class that we have.

Outside of this year I've got 0 idea how Beamer will do as a HC.

Why you say that? I think Leach will be gone before Beamer gets fired.

The university would owe Beamer 65% of his annual salary -- some $1.78 million -- for each year remaining on the contract should it terminate the deal without cause.

If we fired him today, we’d owe him a little less than $9m

I really think the SEC needs to stop firing coaches all the fricking time. Guess what, most of your schools are not going to magic your way into being a blue blood and almost everyone who has done something aspirational has been a brief flash in the pan undone by the inability to sustain, cheating, or otherwise being a fluke. When Georgia canned Richt that made sense because his program had nearly a decade and a half...and it clearly had topped out and missed out on his best shots at winning it all. The dumb dick fans and big money boosters who ain’t as smart as they think they are because they’ve got money need to just stop bitching and never move the AD to fire a guy in less than 5 years unless he’s caught in bed with a hooker or decided to say the gamer word in ear shot of the media.

Alabama landing Saban led to this conference really getting poorer in the middle to bottom because these frickers keep on firing their coaches constantly. The SEC is still as strong at the top as ever if not better than during the aughts but everything after the 4th or 5th team (maybe less some years) is just a wasteland now. Stop firing your fricking coaches all the time.

Edit: I think the Alabama land Saban moment was more about a monetary watershed moment than competitive. Yeah, Alabama ascending back to their usual place at or near the top knocked some programs down a peg (Arkansas would be an obvious victim there) but really Alabama going out and throwing down 4mil/yr in 2007 dollars for a coach just led to every AD via their dumbass boosters thinking they can buy their way into promiseland if not at least a greener pasture than before.

No glass house here, brother. I’m asking because I’m envious of SC if they can just bail if it all goes to shite.

Yes we could afford it, Muschamp's buyout was funded by private donors, Beamer's buyout is nothing compared to that. However I don't think he will fail, in fact I think he will be successful and will be here a long time.

Who gets canned after one season? Crazy talk and SC standards and expectations have never been so high that someone would get the proverbial ax after one season. Unless you pull a Mike Price that's not happening at ALABAMA or anywhere else.
