So had a meeting with with an Afghan Army Colonel one time in 2012. Topic was about developing a training course at Sia Sang to build and establish ANASOC's targeting process. At that point in time, we were doing all of the target development and passing it off to ANASOC for them to action the target package with US or UK SOF advisors.
Anyways, get there and the Afghan Colonel is meeting with a French Army Colonel. I was the lowest ranking guy there as a SFC. French officer's meeting is running long; no big deal. He's obviously speaking in French to his terp who is translating it into Dari. Afghan Colonel says to go ahead and have a seat in the office while he is finishing up with the Frenchman.
Frog decides to talk shite about the US with us in the fricking room. You'd think the motherfricker would have seen the SF tabs on the other 3 Americans (not me, I was support) and think "uh, yeah those guys all have to know a foreign language" but frick no.
Basically anyone assigned to 3d Group is learning French, even if you have another language, since 3d Group has Africa and knowing English and French is pretty damn good for communicating on that entire continent. At that point in time, 3rd group and 7th group were rotating out as the CJSOTF. We had ODA 3413 and 3414 on our camp at Camp Morehead.
Well the US SF Major and Captain really don't like what the Frog is saying about us, thinking he is talking behind our back with us in the fricking room. The Major decides to speak in French to dispute the claims the Frog was making and had the Frog's terp translate it to the Afghan.
Frenchman abruptly ended the meeting and left.

I don't understand how battles in 387 BC (800 years before the Kingdom of the Franks) are even remotely relevant to the French colonization of North America and the sissy French blood prevalent in Louisiana today, but I feel this is much more indicative.
Not to mention OP's first quote in a "Da GuMpz HaTe FrEnCh" is from me, a Georgia fan.
Basically just stepped on his dick right out of the gate.

Now I’m conflicted.
But in all seriousness prior to the mid 20th century France was one of the undisputed great powers.

The French Resistance played a significant role in the Allied Invasion of Normandy, providing intelligence and sabotaging railways, etc. Eisenhower called the work of the Resistance “invaluable.” I suggest you broaden your sources of information.

One term regarding that is accommodation, and it is the practice of adapting one's speech – either consciously or unconsciously – depending on whom one is speaking with.
