Apparently you don't either, we beat Duke in the Sweet Sixteen and Texas in the Elite 8

you're right. IIRC Big Baby and TT racked up almost 50 combined points for the game.

My bad.

I would say Florida probably has the best overall department in the SEC. While Florida has only 26 NCs (NCAA/AIAW only), they have won them in 11 different sports. UGA has 26 as well and won them in 7 sports.

LSU has 42 (43 if you count the vacated T&F title) in 5 sports
Arkansas has 41 (43 if you count the vacated T&F titles) in 4 sports

Arkansas Men's T&F/XC is probably the most dominant program in the SEC though.

ETA: This is just one way to look at it. I'm sure many of you will disagree

How many SEC schools are members of other conferences, too?

Alabama is in C-USA for women's rowing.

And I think they suck.

Hands down Florida is #1

Bama, aTm, Arky, LSU, Georgia, Tennessee can only hope to be there one day

The lower half should give up and focus on what individual sports they are good at

The site you looked at is wrong. I know exactly what wiki you looked at. We have 42. The 41 includes the 40 T&F titles and the 1 basketball title. It doesn't include the football title in 64 that the NCAA actually recognizes. So we're actually tied at 42.

The NCAA may "recognize" it, i.e. list it in their History, but it does not award a championship in FBS Football. There is no trophy given by the NCAA. That's why i qualified the numbers with NCAA/AIAW only.

But if you want to include MNCs then yes, Arkansas has 42.
The NCAA "recognizes" 4 MNCs for LSU, who would still be ahead at 46, plus their Helms basketball title, which = 47.

ETA: I was wrong about LSU's claimed NC in basketball. It was not the Helms Foundation. It was the American Legion Bowl won against Pitt in 1935. It seems like it was a basketball version of a bowl game.
