Maybe. But he would've lost to 2019 LSU or 2020 Bama.

Auburn without Cam in 2010 is 8-5 or 9-4.

Cam Newton was impossible to stop for college defenses. To much size and strength and just enough passing ability to dominate.
That said, I think Burrow was equally nasty.
With Mac Jones - not even a 10 win team. That OL wasn’t dominant and didn’t have near the WR Bama had this year. Same with Burrow but burrow and Cam have skill sets that can punish teams on the ground.

I agree. He carried that team.

A QB out running DB's, diving into the endzone from the 6.

He was. And he carried the team, as you said. Elite player.
And only cost 180k. Dirty AF. #auburncreed

They were all performing at amazing levels (I’d throw Tebow in as well).
I don’t think Burrow or Mac Jones would be particularly effective in late 2000’s zone read style offense (Burrow could run it, but you waste his arm talent in it), and Tebow/Newton would not be good fits for RPO passing schemes of LSU and Alabama that require quick reads and very accurate passers off play action..

If you like a QB that scrambles a lot, yes. Not if you like to see some smooth passing.

Didn't read thread but I feel like most non-bias people probably think that. Jones and Burrow were phenomenal, but they were also in great systems with great NFL- caliber supporting casts. Cam was a generational talent in college with a supporting cast that had no NFL talent on it, and it didn't really matter what system he was in, he just dominated.

I'm still trying to figure out why he dove in that gif ..almost bet he was thinking, o shite I jumped to early

It's impossible to compare fairly but I definitely think Cam had the weakest supporting cast by a wide margin.

Their defense was dog shite.
Just the pass defense. The run defense was #1 in the SEC and #10 in the nation, thanks to Josh Bynes.
