So you are referencing rankings that are proving to be bogus. Star rankings & other player rankings do not translate to actual output & year to year records:
2025 season-
Mizzou 7-3
Auburn 4-6
Mizzou is well-known for coaching up talent & finding diamonds in the rough. Now they can compliment those players with NIL bought players.
Mizzou is in the midst of a $250M renovation. Facilities will continue to improve. MU had to start from behind back in 2012. That just takes time. More investments are coming & have been coming.

I thought Cousin Eddie Merlins was the one to take all the credit for Cam's development...

Auburn has better facilities, better fan support, better recruiting ability than Mizzou.
However, I don't see Drink as a "fit" for Auburn and "fit" is super important on the Plains. I just don't see why Eli would leave a stable program he's built to a respectable level only to jump into what appears to be a dysfunctional program like Auburn who's fired 3 HC's + dozens of Coordinators & position coaches in 5 yrs.

That is coaching. We had a bum. The idea is that Drink's 7-3 turns into 9-11 wins in fairly short order, given the resources of Auburn. This doesn't need to be a pissing contest, but it must be objective. Auburn has the edge as far as eyes and money.
Why is another question. Our state is all about CFB. We don't compete with the Kansas City Chiefs.
If this were to happen, you'd still be able to enjoy Mahomes and Travis Swift. Don't sweat it. I still doubt it happens, but you never kno.

Mizzou's pretty much the team in St. Louis now that the Rams are gone. CF has grown in popularity, being here on the ground. I'm all in on SEC & CF.
I see Mizzou's funding growing over the coming years.
Regarding the Chiefs, good for them if they win SB's & bring them back to Missouri, but I am not a Chiefs fan & I am REALLY not a Swift fan.
I really have yet to hate any traditional SEC program with the exception of OK & TX. TN & AR are getting there, but I do respect Auburn & the fact that they have a good fanbase, but Mizzou has a rabid/strong & disrespected fanbase.

Bad Auburn is still stacking more talent than great Mizzou.
Bad Auburn sits right dead in the center of the best recruiting grounds in the country. Within a 4 hour travel radius, there’s Birmingham, Atlanta, Montgomery, Columbus, the Florida panhandle, Nashville, Mobile and Jackson.. Besides, Georgia and LSU, no other team is surrounded by that amount of talent at that distance.. It’s up to Auburn to finally pull its head out of its arse and take advantage of the riches that surround them. The right guy at the helm could build a monster, but it will never happen if they keep hiring bargain bin coaches.

No matter what, AU will have to fight off Bama & GA get that talent, amongst other schools with dough. It’s nothing more than a bidding war now. I wouldn’t want to be on that bidding war.

This is the seminal point.
Auburn should be a much better job.
History, resources, fanbase, facilities.
But the chaos that surrounds it and the constant turnover has made it equal or less.

Yes, you do. Alabama is the chiefs.

As I’ve said before, Drink is “best case” Freeze. 8-9 wins a year. I would love for him to go there.

Why would Drink leave Mizzou for Auburn?
To go from winning 9-10 games a year to 5-6??

That's a whole lot of cope.
The fact remains that Auburn has more (and better) tools with which to compete for a national title.
Period.
End of story.
It's not even a debate. If you think Mizzou is actually a better program resource wise, then you're just delusional.
The whole argument for Drink is "look what he's doing at little 'ol Mizzou".
If Mizzou were actually equal, resource wise, to Auburn, he'd probably be on a warmish seat at this point. Instead, he's being touted for multiple openings.
