Living in Texas, everyone talks about VY 2005 being the most dominant season they have ever seen.

Just looked it up and Cam is blowing him out as everything but pass yds. Total TD is 48-38 (with one less game). Cam has beat 6 ranked teams (based on today's poll), right?

Tebow's 2007 season may be closest I can think of, but I know he was well short in terms of rushing yds but had more TD's. But that team lost 4 games.

I typically pull against Aub at all cause, but honestly has anyone ever had better season?

I can't think of one, its almost becoming ridiculous how perfect he has played thus far.

Blah somethin bout cheating..blah...paid money...blah slot machines...blahblah sore vaginas..blah laptop

Yes...best single person season performance I've ever
seen and it's not even close...they showed an astounding graphic last night that Cam has accounted for more TD's this year by himself than 84 NCAA TEAMS!!! That's insane

Tebow's Heisman year definately better statistically --

66.9% comletion rate, 3286 passing yards, 32 TDs, 6int, 895 rush yards, 23 TDs.

Making Tebow's rate, pass yards, and Tds > Cam's

But I'd have to say the undefeated record makes Newton's better.

Fla in 2007 played the #1, #2, #12, #15, #18 teams that season. (final poll)

Auburn has played the current #8, #10, #16, #20 (twice), #21

could you imagine how many rushing yards he'd have if we let him run against ULM and UTC?

Imagine if Barry Sanders had had the opportunity to play 14 games that season. If you project his per game average out over those extra games you'd be looking at a 3,300 yard 51 TD season

It seems like they didn't run him much against Ole Miss either.

Barry Sanders was a freak, but he played for a team that was good but not great. Modest competition and a Holiday Bowl diminish those accomplishments a little bit.

Cam is playing for an undefeated SEC team in the national champ game, in addition to his crazy statistical season: #1 nationally in passer rating (188) which would break the NCAA record PLUS about 1500 rushing yards and 20+ rushing TDs. That's sick.

You might find players who had better stats. You might find players who had crazier highlight reels. You might find players who were more valuable to a team's undefeated national championship season. But you would be hard pressed to find a player who ranks so highly on all three of those prongs as Cam Newton.

I did think of one comparison: Tony Dorsett - 1976 (Pitt). Team went undefeated and won a NC, riding his back. He set the single season record for rushing yards (2,000) and the record for career yards (6,000). Won the Heisman, Maxwell and Walter Camp awards (the three biggest at the time). He is probably underrated in terms of how good he was in college.

Probably some others in the mix as well.

Even though I will go to my grave believing someone, somewhere, somehow paid Cam it's beyond dispute that he is an amazing player that's looked like he belongs in a higher league. The dude is just bad arse all the way around.

I've heard some of the talking heads on ESPN and talk radio saying how Cam isn't a very good passer. If there are any coaches on this board, explain to me what he needs to do to as to improving in this area. It looks to me sitting in the living room that most of his passes are spot on and he generally makes good decisions.

Yes, let's diminish Sanders' 2,850 yard 44 TD season in only 12 games
