However, it seems like LSU fans have a hard-on for NFL coaches, moreso than other SEC schools. I remember the clamoring for Jack Del Rio back in the day...
Well I would prefer a hard on for NFL coaches then high school girls basketball coaches. But to each their own I guess.

From the rant:

In his last 125 games as an NFL offensive coordinator, the teams Cameron was a part of in San Diego and Baltimore lost a total of only eight games by more than seven points.

My favorite part of this thread is Arky fans saying its a bad hire when they have not shut up about having the "GOAT" coaching staff. Delusion is hilarious

Thats a sweet stat. They didn't have a world beater defense in San Diego either.

Not going to check back all the pages but I'm pretty sure I've been the Arkansas fan that has posted the most, I never said it was a "bad" hire I just kept saying I doubt the end result will be what y'all are looking for and stated my reasons. I've never spoken once about a GOAT coaching staff. This leads me to believe that you're projecting here.

Worse than Les/Stud?
Only a football neophyte would think Cameron would be a downgrade.

had several LSU fans in agreement with me and a ton of rantards like yourself, with your head in the sand, disagreeing. Keep it up though.
so disagreeing with you is paramount to having one's head in the sand. i guess we should just sit down and let you be dictator.

The SECR is mad because everyone wanted LSU to quietly slip into mediocrity, so they come in and troll the hire. Aub and Arky just hired new coaches and want to believe that they are jockeying for LSU's position (nope). Alabama fans want the only program that competes with them on a yearly basis to fade away. They hate the hire because it threatens their programs. I take it as the biggest compliment
you're hurting the aggies feelings man. and they just signed their best class in 50 years. got 3 louisiana players while we didn't get any tejas players. they mad about cam too. they are desparately waiting for their first sec win against lsu.

Most people are expecting a top 50 offense. No way a fairly successful NFL coordinator could accomplish that. The majority of people think this is a "good" hire. We're not acting like we just stole Sean Payton from the Saints

So if you take the baseline that LSU has now, it isn't like they need a top 10 offense in the country to succeed. And it could be that the personality dynamic works out well.
It's not like people thought Saban's choices for OC were home runs, but for Alabama's current philosophy, they fit well. What Alabama's offense lacks in flair or creativity they execute in efficiency. Obviously people make mistakes, and they will be criticized, but this happens with everyone.
Given what LSU needs, Miles' quirks, his offensive philosophy, and the players LSU has and gets, I don't really know who would be a "homerun" hire, but I can certainly see why Miles thought he would be a good gamble for LSU and what they want to accomplish over the next few years.

Quit sucking LSU's dick. He is a good OC, no doubt. Not a good HC based on his career record. End of story.

Opposing fans will use anything to make it sound like a bad hire. It's okay to admit when another team makes a good hire damn... Anything is better than what we have at this point

You don't last 10 years in the nfl as a coordinator if you don't know football. This is a solid hire no matter how you want to spin it.

Posted on 2/8/13 at 4:03 pm to BhamBengal
you know bama fans can't admit stuff like that
