ESPN released their top 50 players for the upcoming season. Ridley was ranked 18th. He's a good player for sure but should he be ranked that high?

Last year, he ranked 94th in country in receiving yards. In the SEC, he was ranked 9th in both receiving yards and touchdowns. He only had one monster game early in the season vs Kentucky and all but disappeared in the CFB playoffs.

Let the downvotes begin but I just don't get his hype
Ridley is all hype, nothing more. Have an upvote for recognizing it and pointing it out to the board.

You need to get word to CEO and tell them to totally ignore the dude, he's a good player for sure but nothing for y'all to spend too much time preparing/planning for.

I go to a couple of Auburn games a year and watch at least half their games due to being married to an Auburn fan and I actually didn't know who Nate Craig Myers was either. Name sounded familiar but I wouldn't have known he was an Auburn football player. I don't follow recruiting much though.

I can remedy that..NCM will remedy that himself this season. I expect him to be the #1 target in a much improved passing attack.

100% serious.

ETA: I see now he had 4 catches in 11 games and didn't make any of the 3 preseason All-SEC teams. Why are you surprised nobody has heard of him?

After last season, I think 18 is a little high, but he's REALLY good. I think he'll go over 1,000 yards again this season and probably will score 8-9 touchdowns. Amari Cooper or Julio Jones he ain't, though.

18 might be a slight reach, but he has that kind of talent.

The question will be the progression of his QB, and the amount of aggressive throwing they are willing to do. The kid has elite CFB/1st round NFL talent. What they do with it, in the Alabama 2017 framework is the question.

If the spring game was any indication, I think there will be a lot more downfield shots taken this season than last year. I think if it does play out that way, that will definitely be a big benefit to Ridley. He's so good going up and getting the ball out of the air.

He knows. He recognized that last year and just had Tre White man him up. 2 catches, 23 yards. It's the rest of your team that worries me.

That's why. He was a very highly touted recruit a few years back that didn't get on the field in year 1 due to the injury bug. Never anything serious, always minor.

I guess I can't say anything, though, considering I have pretty much stopped following recruiting altogether. I am in your shoes now.

He's already better than OBJ and Landry combined.

Amari Cooper
Fr 59 rec 1000 yards
So 45 rec 736 yards

Calvin Ridley
Fr 89 rec 1045 yards
So 72 rec 769 yards

Definitely not saying he's better than Coop. Cuz I don't think he is. I'm just sayin.
