GFY! I havent backed off anything. You are still a moron for posting an outdated list. The only thing I regret is trying to have a logical discussion with a typical bammer moron such as yourself. I have should have known better

No other fan base outside of Bama and Tennessee gives a frick about this game.
Seriously, did anyone think the SEC/Slive would try to frick UA/UT out of our rivalry game?

Knoxville would explode if that happened. We've never been through such a dry spell of bad seasons - the reaction would be huge. None of us are getting our hopes up this year tho.

Jones trying to ride the coattails of Bama trying to keep a dying program relevant.

Personally, I have no problem with maintaining permanent cross division opponents to maintain Bama/Tennesse, because it is a good rivalry, but to call it the best in the SEC is asinine.
My guess is that if you asked most College Football fans, "Which of these is not a rivalry?" and you list those 5 games, most people would say Bama/Tennessee.
Put it another way...
I don't think Alabama has ever refused to go play in Knoxville like they refused to play in Auburn for all of those years. One of the measuring sticks of a rivalry is just how discombobulated your program and fanbase gets due to the rival and vice/versa.

I'm going to have to call bullshite here. Besides the obvious obsession by LSU fans over this game, over 4 mil people watched the game last year, which would put it in the upper half of SEC games and not too bad for a miserable program like Tennessee. If you'll remember, this game gets prime time while LSU plays at 11am.

Ha...both schools have great programs with rich histories, but let's not get carried away by calling it the best rivalry.
As others have said, the Iron Bowl, UGA-AU, the Cocktail Party, the Egg Bowl and LSU versus whoever they're claiming their rival to be have all been more exciting games recently.
Actually, now that I'm thinking about it (though they haven't played nearly as much, but first played back in 1901), I'd take the LSU-Auburn series for excitement.
The Earthquake Game
The Interception Game (Pick 6)
Bring Back the Magic
Barn Burner
The Cigar Game
Dec. 1 2001 (after 9/11 for the SEC West Championship...Auburn getting a 15-yeard penalty 30 minutes before the game even started, LSU starting the game with an onside kick, Auburn's kicker getting into a fight with the band during their half-time performance...)
D Byrd (last second TD when Les almost let the clock run out)
Dew Day (Stiff Dew)
Okay, the last one wasn't a great one, but Auburn might've been competitive had it not dewed and it could have been another classic. Kidding.

See, that is the exact line of thinking that is 100% incorrect. We aren't screwing everyone else. The vast majority of the schools voted to keep them. Just because 3 schools don't like it, doesn't mean we are screwing everyone. If we dropped the cross-divisional games, then the minority would be screwing the majority. But since the majority wants them, the minority needs to STHU.

The 2013 and 2012 Alabama-Tennessee games were the highest rated games on TV during those particular weekends. To say no one cares is nothing but complete and utter bullshite. Since Alabama has been awesome and Tennessee has been shite, the game has appeared on the following channels:
2013: CBS Game of the Week
2012: ESPN Primetime game
2011: ESPN2 Primetime game
2010: ESPN Primetime game
2009: CBS Game of the Week
2008: ESPN Primetime game
Obviously someone other than Alabama and Tennessee fans care about it.

Bama under Saban draws big ratings against whoever they're playing. 2008 is when they started being a contender under Saban and people tune in when you're a contender.

Coming from an Ag this statement is funny. ATM and Mizzou entering the conference is what screwed up the schedule to begin with. As a newcomer you don't get to make demands. If you don't like Bama/UT playing annually then you can go back to the Big12. TSIO runs tSEC.

Nobody but UT fans and a few bama fans believe that. It is the third best rivalry game, in the conference, at best.
