We haven't had that since the Billy Tubbs days. Not sure how we have managed to have Final Four years and get players like Blake Griffin, Trae Young, and Buddy Hield.
If I were a big time basketball recruit I wouldn't go to OU.

Well he was one and done and while amazing the first 2/3rds of the season he wasn't great down the final stretch.
He also was a liability on the defensive end. (Haven't really followed him in the NBA but suspect that is still the case.)
He was from Norman so that is the only way we got him. (Dad was Texas Tech.)

Used to be a waiting list for season tickets. Heath, Pelphrey helped kill that. Anderson helped get the product back, now Muss has the fanbase fully bought in again.

Even with them, Arkansas was still top 15 in attendance. I know Arkansas likes to fancy themselves as a football school first but most of our good memories are from the Nolan years in the 90s while football just sucked for 30 years except the Petrino years.

This will surely be a fun basketball season for the SEC. Tennessee, UK, Bama, Arkansas, and Auburn will all be contending for the league title. I love that our conference is good at every sport so we get year-round entertainment.

We will really be cooking with gas if we can bring Missouri and Florida back while adding Texas. I think we have multiple teams in conference this year that can make deep runs in the NCAAT.
The question, of course, is favorable draws. To often SEC teams get "neutral" site games ten minutes away from another team's campus... particularly the ACC.

Arkansas is a mixed bag of what they like and want to be. They want football to be first but history suggests that basketball has a lot better history and they have been much more relevant since joining the SEC.
Arkansas high school football lacks fan support and care around the state. It just isn't treated here like a religion in other states. Basketball is popular in most areas of Arkansas and baseball has gained more popularity as well.
