hired in April of last year, the last P4 hire, after almost every high level portal player was already signed at other places
inherited a roster with one player, who never played, while all other returning players followed Buzz to Maryland.
Picked up one high level portal guy - Mackenzie Mgbako - who was lost for the year with an injury,
Is currently starting a 6-5 center.
And has the Ags at 4-1 in the SEC, and would be 5-0 but for terrible officiating down the strech in Knoxville, leading to a loss in double OT.
Anyway - Bucky is legit. He's going to make some noise in this league. Probably not this year, but soon.

When I saw some of A&M’s non conference games, I thought y’all were one of the bottom teams in the SEC. I guess I was wrong. Y’all haven’t exactly played murderers row in conference, but you can only beat the teams you play. Good for you guys. Enjoy your Bucky ball.

Exactly what I thought. And I still think we're at best a middle of the pack team. But we've improved a LOT.

Bucky Ball is legit. He was head coach of my area high school and won numerous state championships at a school not known for basketball. Then he was excellent at Samford. I knew he would do well at A&M. Just didn’t expect him to have this immediate of an impact.
If Oats ever leaves Alabama, I hope we try and hire Bucky.
