Bryce Young reminds me a lot of Russell Wilson

Both smaller guys that aren't run first guys and don't necessarily look to run the ball down your throat but move well in the pocket and are nimble enough to make tackling them a major headache.

Both can throw well on the run, can make any throw, and are very accurate.

Both also seem to be great leaders and teammates.

Very impressed with Young's poise and play despite limited experience and relative youth.

I think an important trait they both have is that they both continue to look down the field for passing opportunities, even when they are scrambling. For a lot of guys, once they start running, they're done looking for someone to throw to.

That was a comp that a lot of folks had on him coming out of high school. He's certainly displayed a lot of those traits this season, especially his ability to move around to buy time and run when he has to.

Bryce has been fantastic all year. His only real issue has been the deep ball, and it's just seemed to be a bit off for whatever reason. Really happy with the way he's played, especially in a bit of a tough spot given all personnel turnover from 2020 especially at WR, OL pass blocking being inconsistent, a new OC and a defense that has made it necessary for the offense to score quite a bit.

He and Robinson have been the rocks of that offense. Robinson is a 5th year senior, so you expect it. Bryce is a 2nd year QB, so you never know how they'll respond with all that stuff on their shoulders.

As RTR says, he is very good about keeping his eyes downfield, even while moving, and seems to be very smart about picking and choosing when he needs to run.

Definitely not one or two reads then take off like a lot of young dual threat quarterbacks seem to be.

It's kind of funny that we had to tell him to stop reading the field at a certain point and use his legs to get 5-10 yards. He wants to make a throw so bad he sometimes waits it out too long.

I thought Nuss looked really good for LSU Saturday. Any chance he takes the reigns down the stretch? I'd guess the coaching change probably makes that a little more challenging/different in terms of getting a talented kid experience in a lost year when the staff isn't coming back.

Alabama fans should be confused by your tactics.

Alabama converted 15 of 20 third downs, four on Young scrambles -- two of which went for touchdowns. His five-yard scoring run that tied the game at 14 was his first collegiate rushing touchdown after two consecutive handoffs to Brian Robinson netted five yards.

Bryce is playing very well behind a OL that is average at best.

We're #1 in the country in 3rd down conversion %, and a whole lot of the reason for that is Bryce.

It's possible. He's definitely got a much better arm than Johnson. Much quicker release too.

Next offseason could be very interesting with a new HC and OC plus Johnson, Nussmeier, and Walker Howard (assuming he still comes to LSU).

Brennan also technically still has eligibility next season too although he would likely transfer. Maybe one of the others does too.

I'm pretty excited that Bryce has started incorporating his running skills the last couple weeks. Don't take hits, but if the dbs all turn their backs to you, why not take off for 10 yards and slide? Makes him kind of a nightmare for opposing defenses. Either sacrifice a defender to spy all game and weaken your coverage options, or live with Bryce picking up 3rd down coversions with his legs.

Seeing him next to Saban is like seeing Frodo next to Bilbo.
