You must be a master contract negotiator.
Step 1 - Publicly state you are solid with your current employer
Step 2 - Lose leverage
Step 3 - Get lowballed on contract offer from current employer

This OP is definitely retarded.

And he has a major hard-on for Auburn.

. The fact that the coach of the #1 team in America didn't just come out with a flat "No" is all I need to see.

That doesn't give him as much bargaining power to get what he wants at Auburn. Doesn't mean he has intentions of leaving. Louisville is a shitshow right now. If he can get what he wants at Auburn, what reason would he have to leave for Louisville? Other than historical prestige of the program, he'd be walking into a complete rebuild at Louisville with no guarantee he's able to get it done. At Auburn, he can just continue what he's been doing and continue to build the reputation of the program while getting paid well and having top notch facilities. This isn't a currently elite program looking to replace a coach who's retiring while the program is still in good shape. This is a once elite program looking for someone to save the program after NCAA sanctions and firing the coach who replaced the coach who is responsible for the sanctions. Unless I'm a guy at a smaller program or a school that refuses to invest in me and/or the program to the level necessary to compete, then I'm probably not even considering the Louisville job absent an obscene amount of money that no one is willing to come close to matching.

Why are the pigs always rooting for other teams to lose their coach? Are they not happy with their current coaching situation in all sports? Misery loves company?

Weird.

So much hate from the Plainsmen fans. I think y'all know its true. You've had a nice little run, been very successful for 3* years. Avoided all the sanctions that usually come with a BP led team. Have a true contender for a team this year. But Pearl has always been a grass is greener type of guy. He's undoubtedly a good coach, so when Duke or Maryland or some other bigger more prestigious program back east comes calling, Pearl will go running.

I love the new mantra by rival fans. First it was Bruce is a crooked coach that nobody wants, then he was just an average coach that nobody wants, now he is an elite coach that Duke will go after.

Keep hiring those FOTM Club members and you will claim he is the next Laker coach. :rotflmao:

Since when? He loved Tennessee and would probably still be there if he didn't have NCAA problems.

Again,

Wish in one hand and shite in another and tell us which one fills up first,

Nah he's just using leverage. He can get anything he wants from Auburn admin it looks like. Every coach seems to be doing it nowadays and it almost always works in their favor

It is really silly having to play this game. Programs should be doing it own their own without this drama. Auburn used the future of a FOF as a draw when interviewing a new coach, instead of already having it in place. It was delayed for Gus because the Administration wanted to see how the program was going.

You may be on to something here...... NBA coaches are the best in the world. Pearl really can't claim to be a "great" coach until he tries out the NBA.
