While I can't mark UGA as ahead of others due to unknown injuries, If Chubb and Sony return to form, We insta-move to #2.

If's and But's and all that

Jalen Hurd and Alvin Kamara almost combined for 2,000 yards last season for UT to go with 19 rushing touchdowns. The 6-3, 240-pound Hurd is a Freak athlete and a very underrated receiver (57 catches the past two seasons). He averaged five yards a carry in the game at Bama; ran for 102 yards at UF; and ran for 130 yards against Northwestern in the bowl game. Kamara is a nice change-up. He’s shifty and also a terrific receiver (34 catches last year) and was good for 6.5 yards a carry last year. Freshman Carlin Fils-Aime, a speedy Floridian, has impressed folks inside the program since arriving. He and sophomore John Kelly (166 yards last fall) will push for carries.

Bama not being on this list is a joke. Its pretty much a given that every year someone (BoScar) steps up and runs wild.

Alabama doesn't belong on any preseason top 10 list for RB units this year. Alabama has had very consistent production at RB for many years now, but the current guys haven't done it yet. Hopefully they will deserve a spot on a postseason top 10 list.

'Bama may not be in the top ten RB tandems in the preseason polls-------but I am betting on 'Bama being in the top ten RB tandems in the post season polls.

Have an upvote. Rationality is a laudable if impossible goal on tRant.

Who does FSU have besides Cook? Cook is a monster and all, but I don't know who else they have? The same thing with Stanford, who do they have beside McCaffery? I don't want to be that homer guy, but LSU, Georgia and Tennessee are easily top 4 and I'd put Oklahoma 2nd at lowest. They can surely make an argument for the top spot as well. I know my opinion is skewed because I see way more SEC football, but still.

This, except FSU has a pretty decent backup in Patrick. McCaffrey doesn't have anybody worth a mention behind him as Barry Sanders Jr transfered and they lost their goal line back, and even Hogan who ran a bit at QB is now gone. I have no idea why they are even mentioned in the top 10 at all. I also have no idea why he didn't put Pitt in the top 10. Not only do they have a RB that had over 1100 yards and 11 TDs, as a freshman, returning, but they also have James Conner coming back cancer free who is easily a top 5 back in all of college football when healthy.

Oh and my opinion is not skewed as I've watched the other squads on the list.

Also I think people should look out for Texas's 2 back squad of D'Onta Foreman and Chris Warren III. Those guys are beasts and might just outrun Perine and Mixon who I think have as a good 1-2 punch as anybody but LSU.

There are so many awesome RBs across the country this year

The NFL is going to face a serious delimna here in a few years when all the star veteran QBs retire. The number of great NFL QB prospects have been dwindling in recent years, and the style of play in the NFL is not what the majority of college teams are running. There have been many more elite RBs come through college than QBs, and most of the elite QBs are more spread oriented guys. I feel like there is going to be big switch in the coming years in the NFL in terms of the style of offenses we'll see, and running backs will start to be viewed as more of a premium than they are presently.
