He's been a beast since he showed up. I remember the SECCG and asking someone who the TE was years ago. Bama could not tackle him. The best college TE I've ever seen and that includes Keith Jackson (here come the sooner fans), Kellen Winslow Jr, Jeremy Shockey, Gordon Hudson, Dallas Clark and Ozzie newsome.

That's some pretty high praise

Bowers isn't a great blocker. That's all I said.
He graded #7 and #13 in 2021 and 2022 in run blocking, in the country, among all FBS tight ends, according to PFF. LINK
It's Arik Gilbert you are thinking of who can't block.
Go get your shine box.
ETA- There's a Mackey Award in there somewhere too.

Not be a TE.
I don't agree. He's the next Kelce and is a huge reason why you're undefeated.

They already do. He has been smothered all season. He just breaks open. Freeze stated several times in interviews this past week that they had to stop Bowers from being the X factor. He is 230+ and just to fast and glides into his route breaks. His hands are like velcro and he is hard to tackle after the catch. Maybe triple team him would work.
Those YAC are due, in large part, to his balance. I've never seen a big man with the balance of a gymnast. I don't know how he does it but he has an uncanny ability of recognizing his center of gravity and consciously keeping it where it needs to be through contact. He's an absolute freak of an athlete.

I have to admit, he deserves the Heisman as much as anyone.

I have thought along these same lines.
Brady had Gronk, without him Brady wasn’t as effective. Same with Mahommes and Kelce, their loss this season was when Kelce didn’t play.
Heck, when Jay Novacek left the Cowboys Aikman’s go to guy was gone and they were never the same.
This kid has a chance to be a #1 pick, screw the heisman it don’t mean shite no way no more.
Any qb would love to have that go to guy and there aren’t many like this kid.

The guy is 34-1 as a Dawg. He does more than a skinny tall receiver. The Heisman is supposed to be the player that does the most for his team. No player will elevate their team to the heights that Bowers has lifted us too in his time here. He’s also a very humble young man and by all metrics the most clutch player I’ve seen in decades.

He's the best I've seen in a long time. He couldn't be stopped yesterday. Georgia loses that game without him.

I agree with yall, but I think it will get alot harder to do those things as other teams will try and lock him down with double teams.
Already been trying that for a season, if not a season and a half. Not like they just figured out "we have to stop him first".

Apparently not have Bobo as your OC. The guy finally breaks out 5 games into the season. It's his last year and just now are they trying to feature the guy...

You would have been screaming at Bobo had Bowers been hurt against a lesser opponent, and you know it. They said point blank they were trying to get others up to speed earlier this season. Bowers had a big game against UAB as well. He is also dealing with some minor injuries. He is also used for bait to get other guys wide open, like Delp was this game. It would be the wrong thing to do to always over feature him to the exclusion of others. Your team then has greater potential to fall apart if he is lost to injury.

I told the guy beside me yesterday he was the second best TE in football, behind only Kelce.

That is the beauty of such a threat at tight end.
In-line.
H back. Motion man.
Slot.
X.
We've moved him to FB.
Moved him to RB.
Moved him to a pro set.
I think we had a goal line direct snap last season.
If the defense has a plan... do they have a good plan as an inline tight end? Does it translate as a motion HBack/slot? Does it translate as a running back? Does it translate trips right with Bowers at X? Does it translate in 2 x 2 next to McConkey?

He had 2 catches for 9 yards through 3 qtrs of play vs Auburn. He went off in the 4th qtr, but if he were impossible to cover, why didn't he have more than 2 catches in the first 45 minutes of play? Was he just blocking during that time?
I think Bowers is the biggest miss match in college football and should be in New York…
But Jaylin Simpson went out with an injury. So our 2 best interior coverage guys were out of the game in Simpson who got injured in the game and Keonte Scott out with an ankle injury. So 2nd string Star position player. And 3rd string safety trying to cover him.
