Freeze served cold chicken fingers with bullseye BBQ sauce, duh.

Kelly could have served Shepherd's Pie but that would have been needlessly cruel.

So is he supposed to hold a counseling session with each player?

Well it is 2021 and some of our friends need counseling for the Rittenhouse verdict.

A fine Catholic mass, free rosaries, autographed photos of the holy virgin, and communion.

End with a Jameson whiskey toast.

Not sure it's the best hire but how is what he did any different than every coach in America every year? Why all the backlash?

I'd be so pissed if they asked me to a 7am meeting only for it to last 10 minutes

I have no love for lsu or notre dame but seriously, what was Brian Kelly supposed to do? He met with them face to face. He didn't leave in the middle of the night. He didn't spray paint "I'm outta of this hell hole" in the players lounge or anything. I think the players probably understood that he is gonna make millions of dollars and they would do the same thing given a similar opportunity. Is there some type of coach leaving etiquette the rest of us don't know about that he should have followed?

Present a slide show?

Good one! I laughed out loud at this. Would that have been a Notre Dame slide show or an LSU slide show?

I did not say anything about what he should have done just what he actually did.

There is no coaching etiquette for these situations.

The urgency to get a guy in place prior to the early signing day combined with the bright spotlight on every movement by anyone in the athletic department of a school making a hire means that everyone involved has to lie, either outright or by omission.

Meeting with his team at all, especially after it got out, is more than most coaches do.
