In 2012, when he played bama down to the last 5 seconds. The same bama team that basically pulled a UGA/tcu on Notre Dame.

I would certainly call that "closer".

And now you're playing the game where you repeat back everything someone else posts because you're too stupid to have an original thought.

When did Richt coach a team in the national championship game?

I respect Coach Richt as a coach and a man, but this is just stupid.

We all remember that ND team, and how mediocre they were.

Well that's a shame. Must have taken a great coach to get such a mediocre team to that game.

That’s good. I thought some people were trying to use it as a pejorative and I was pretty confused

Eh, So many close calls vs bad teams is not indicative of a great team. Very similar to TCU in how out of place they were in the final game of the season.

I will never understand how people continue to just take coaches at face value and not factor in the influence of the athletic director and school. There is a reason Smart made UGA make promises to him about facilities and behind the scenes stuff before he signed. He had probably laughed at how how UGA forced Richt to fight SEC brethren who were living in the pre NIL Wild West era with at one hand and foot tied together.

Oh and that 2012 SEC CG? UGA probably had at most 60 scholarship players available by the end of that season.

Personally, I think if the 4 team playoff was in place during Richt’s tenure, he would have likely ended up with one national title- in 2007 season. That team was just jamming by the end of the season.

So was LSU.

Would have been a good game.

As an LSU fan I can say this isn't a Brian Kelly thing. Seems like LSU has always played up or down based on their competition.

Sure. If every other college minus Bama has done the same. Then yes you’d have a claim to that statement.
