I said in the other thread, from all indications Newton has been a really good teammate to Mac. He will get picked up somewhere

I really don't like CAM but that said a lot about him. He had to know his time was coming. But this news is fairly shocking. I wonder if it was a team chemistry thing?

We need someone to put Mac's head on that kid.

I've put in a request on the Fark Board. Stay tuned.

Haven't been following Pats. Who would back-up, Stidham or Hoyer?

Stidham I would think but is he still out with the back injury?

Where's my hero Tuscaloosa when I need him?

Everything that is touted today won't compare to some of the sting taken away from the Iron Bowl in 2010.

I don't care about your opinions, tell me what your "insider sources" are saying!

I'm eagerly awaiting The List of coaches who are suddenly ahead of Belichick in terms of job performance now that he has made such an inept move.

Everything that I've heard on NFL talk shows is that players absolutely love having Cam as a teammate and in the locker room.

He took two sacks in a preseason game. When the real season starts let's see what happens and how long he will last. Like I said, BB will be firing Assistants first and then realizing it's time.

Call me after the 4th game and we will discuss this. This will be more enjoyable than watching Cam play. Watching both BB and Bama Fans fold will be fun to watch.

You've been wrong about everything regarding Cam, Mac, and the Patriots, and you're going to continue to be wrong.

I'm hearing that Mac has already learned the Pat's very difficult playbook. He also has won over the locker room. He's been checking down, reading coverages and playing like a veteran the last week. Then to have Newton as a distraction. That was enough for BB to pull the trigger, which he would never do lightly. Cam's misstep opened the door. Plenty of players got their big break after another guy got hurt or did something dumb. I'm damn sure excited to watch Pat games now.

It’s not shocking that Mac would be the starter, but releasing Cam is surprising. Especially when you have Hoyer as a back up. Something with how the covid thing went down triggered this or was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

The only other potential scenario is that BB told Cam that Mac won the job and Cam asked for a release to try to pick up somewhere else. That seems unlikely, though.
