Hoyer. Stidham is hurt. Either way, this move is Belichick burning the ships. No one is going to be calling for Hoyer to start if Mac has a few rough patches. He's pushing all the chips in with Mac. Which is honestly kind of wild to me. I thought he played well in pre-season, but that's a bold move to make for any rookie QB.

Yeah, I would have actually preferred for Mac to get a few games on the sidelines just observing things. I never like throwing rookie QBs directly into real NFL games.

I just honestly think Mac is that good. Bill doesnt frick around with rookies. He doesn’t care how high they are drafted, he only starts guys he trust. This is a pretty big deal honestly.
