Why would somebody from the South care about a regular season basketball game between teams from Illinois and Missouri? You shouldn't. I certainly didn't care when VCU stomped a mud hole in Alabama. Nor did I care when MTSU beat Ole Miss. You don't have to watch. And when we play y'all you won't want to watch.

Mizzou hoops: lives in a nice little 2 bedroom in a quiet neigbhorhood, always keeps up on the mortgage payments with a steady income, built a beautiful gazebo last year but a storm came along and tore it up, but no biggie, still raising our fam in our nice little house and enjoying each moment.

Arkansas hoops: won the scratch off lotto game this one time 18 years ago, went from dogshit to millionaire overnight, moved into this frickin' huge pimpin' mansion, invited the whole world over for a raging bender full of hookers & blow, and promptly burned that fricking mansion down to ashes in a stoned haze. Been living beneath a bridge in a puddle of their own piss ever since. Vents frustrations by talking shite about responsible middle class homeowners.

Good luck Missouri. Not everyone in the South is apathetic toward basketball... Just those with crappy teams and programs.

I'll watch. I like basketball even though Bama still refuses to get its shite together there. All the snide chest thumping over liking baseball better than the second most popular college sport in the country is lame.

Not legit. Arkansas was a good basketball program long before Nolan.

I really dont see how you're mocking his success at Mizzou. It's not like y'all have had coaches that have accomplished more.

He was/is a good coach, not our best coach. He got the program turned around from the shite hole Quin left it in. The players that MA already had at the school were good players. He did leave us with a big hole in recruiting because he stopped doing it. Haith did a tremendous job filling in those holes. We really could and should have been in the shitters last year with what MA left us but instead Haith turned it around and got us 30 wins last year. Haith's class this year and next year are already really solid too. Mizzou will be just fine.

I think MA will get Arky competitive again. Personally, when he was here, there were things I liked and things I couldn't stand about MA's style of play. The 40 minutes of hell could make for some exciting play at times but there also wasn't much of a system to it. Without much of a system, you could roll through much of the season but it makes it tough come conference and tourney time. I, for one, hope MA gets Arky back to the upper levels of basketball. It would be good for the SEC and ultimately better for Mizzou too.

Mike Anderson could not beat kU when he was at mizzou, and he won't be able to beat UK, UF or Mizzou while he's at arky. The reality is his system does not match up well against teams that have a lot of top talent

Here is what I don't get about the Arkytards in this thread. They make fun of Mizzou because we have never been to Final Four, then turn around and brag about how great Mike Anderson is, who has also never been to a Final Four.

Someone earlier in the thread said they were glad to see Mike Anderson come to Mizzou and glad to see him leave Mizzou. I would agree with this statement. He pulled Mizzou up off the floor and made us competitive again but I grew weary of his system. He couldn't get high level recruits in because they don't want to play 20 minutes per game and share time with 11 other players.

It sucked the way he constantly flirted with other schools to get a raise every year...that was the main reason I had no problem with him being gone. The fact that he had ZERO recruits coming in the year after he left abolutely sucked, especially considering we had more in state talent that year than we have probably ever had....Otto Porter went to Georgetown, Bradley Beal went to Florida, Ben McLemore went to kansas and BJ Young went to Arkansas.

Haith has done an amazing job leveling out the scholorship classes, first using junior college players, then transfers from other schools. I am very happy that Mike Anderson is now at Arkansas and Frank Haith is now at Missouri.....sounds like all of the Arkytards are as well, so why all of the bitching?

Well said.

It is almost like they are willing success after last years dismal showing.

Did we win it all last year? No. We took a step in the right direction, Arky did not.

This year, is another step. A NC or conference championship may not happen for us this year, but we have exellent recruits comming in the following year along with the exellent players we already have now. This would be another step in the right direction.

One thing is certain for us that is not for Arky. We should be competing for a conference title every year in BB in the SEC and should be somewhere in the NCAA tourny every year also.

He has been at Missouri and UAB. Those just aren't FF level Programs. He did do some great things at both places though. He'll have us back to making the tourney with an occasional deep run shortly. As for the can't recruit top talent comment, Arkansas has an excellent recruiting class coming in. Maybe Missouri, not MA, was the problem
