By this logic is any coach ever allowed to take a job anywhere else in his opinion? I am not one bit amazed by LSU hiring Kelly, but Quinn sounds like a little bitch.

These are the kinds of posts that falsely solidify a new coach's image in opposing fans' minds. If you want to believe he's a good dude, you disregard this kinda conjecture. If you want to hate him, you use it to fuel your select hate-image.
They did this about Saban and I never forgot about it. Context is everything. Saban didn't leave LSU for Bama. He left an NFL team and he didn't want to say it aloud b/c he still had games left. He is committed to winning every single game. So he admitted it after the season ended.
Idk what the context surrounding BK's situation is, but I do know better than to take shite like this at face value. No one ever had any problem around here with him before now, and both LSU and Bama have played him at Notre Dame multiple times between them. He's been discussed before, and I don't recall the hate.
Also, don't underestimate Notre Dame's sour grapes. They're a shite tier program and board. They'll shite on your image with a quickness and they'll have a TON of support no matter how bad their program is currently.
Luckily, LSU is a very very Catholic school and Notre Dame can't go too deep in the paint in terms of public hate towards LSU, I would think.

The only quip I can see for Nd fans is if things fall right they are a playoff team and the committee will leave them out because they lost their head coach and they as much as said that. LSU and other teams can’t wait with early signing day.

This.
Kelly would have taken any job that offered that contract.

And he did exactly what Brady Quinn would have done.
I wonder how many people would go do their job if they were not paid?
OF COURSE IT'S ABOUT THE MONEY!!!
Stupid talking heads wants to make everybody think they are above it all, and they don't care about money.

Sure do remember a lot of LSU fans around here saying Petrino was classless for leaving ATL just like this.

Did you feel left out because no one is paying attention to you? Here's some attention.

If it really was about the money he'd have given ND a chance to match LSU's offer. ND surely has enough wealthy boosters and alums to chip in. ND's program isn't what it once was but it isn't for lack of money.
I truthfully believe he just wanted a new challenge, he had been at ND for 12 years and he's been watching SEC teams win titles for about 15 years now and he wanted to be a part of that. Money obviously played a factor, he wasn't going to leave ND for a lowball salary but it's hard to believe that was the only factor

You know why I hate this type of thing?
Ed Ogeron LSU record 5+ seasons: 51-20
Brian Kelly in first 6 years at ND: 34-22 (Many vacated due to cheating)
See what happens when the script is flipped?

It was about the money. Yes, he might have wanted out of ND, but don't act like he was sitting around just wanting to go to LSU.

Geez. You’d think Kelly was the first coach ever to change jobs.

Because they clearly walked into the same situations.

I addressed this if you hadn't selectively left it out while quoting me
quote:
Money obviously played a factor, he wasn't going to leave ND for a lowball salary but it's hard to believe that was the only factor
And also, saying that it's "about" the money implies that if ND would have given him the same or better deal then he'd have taken that. But he didn't even give ND that chance. Because it was about more than just money. Not saying that he'd have taken a paycut to leave, money obviously plays a factor.
Never said he was specifically waiting for LSU in particular, dunno where you got that idea. Our AD got the money ponied up and went got him and Kelly decided it was the opportunity he's been waiting for and he took the offer. Simple as that
