This would be like putting an alcoholic as cashier at a liquor store... something bad bound to happen

Auburn politics would not be good for Lane. He has rehabbed his career after some bad HC behavior.

For whatever reason, there are more than a few retarded Auburn fans that claim they don’t want Urban Meyer anywhere near Auburn.
Im not one of them.

Dude an arrogant sleazeball, but unlike Freezus he has actually proven he can build championship caliber football programs.

I don’t know that he’d work out for us if we were somehow able to hire him, but that’s a gamble worth taking.

Freezus? Or Deion? No thanks.

Y’all hired Bruce pearl. So obviously being a moral man isn’t a prerequisite.

You backwood rednecks crack me up. Hey quick question, how’s it feel to get butt fricked at home by a middling Big Ten 10. I bet that hurt didn’t it?
Thats the best you had? Still better than being OM and only relevant once every 20 years and then its only for top 10.

And no one gives a crap about a BBQ years ago when you are winning. No school in the nation has morals. They just play politics until it blows over.

Looking at the records not see that Auburn is some blue blood. Sorry but you aren’t Bama no matter how much you wish it. In fact let’s just look at the immediate. Nothing shouts relevance like talking about firing you HC midseason and will be lucky to hire a disgraced washed up coach that can’t field a defense……let that sink in clown.

Historically Auburn is well known as a football school. I don't care how far up the list we are. The fact we are having a bad year is as irrelevant as a small school having a good year. Its part of the cycle of football. The point was OM isnt viewed as a top of the line job and Auburn is. Twist it how you like.

- would be a good solid hire that would immediately restore Auburn to recruiting relevancy, but the ceiling isn't as high as the top 2 and he's probably less likely to leave his current school as well.

The delusion ? ?

Dont act like they havent taken your coach before. Pine box ring a bell?

Sanders with Auburn's recruiting resources is a scary thought to me.

Why? He’s get exposed big time having to play teams with rosters as talented as his.

He’s got five stars playing FCS football. Any swinging dick on this board could win 95% of their games in that situation

If you are speaking historically you are wrong. So what that you had 1 good team in the last 3 decades and now suck so bad you can get a decent HC……THAT SCREAMS RELEVANCE! Enjoy Freeze, he fits your program perfectly!

Since you brought up last 3 decades, Auburn has won a NC, has an argument for another (by the media not just Auburn fans), and seconds from winning another in the NC game in just the last 2 decades. That's not counting any other years. Not many schools can claim that. 2 of those in the last 12 years. So Auburn is far from some nobody nationally.

As far as coaches not coming, that's our idiots running the AD overpaying bad hires and not having as much to throw at the next guy we want.

Now if you want to get back to the thread and quit trying to hype OM as a historical powerhouse that no coach would ever leave.

Make no mistake, High Freeze would drag his nuts over broken glass for the Auburn job. He is already campaigning for it behind closed doors.

I think the question is more how badly Auburn botches the next hire and who all they go all in for. Freeze is going to be on several lists with all the teams dumping their coaches this early or expected to.

He wouldn't be a fully accepted hire by all fans. What sucks is all the hires out there seem to be big gambles and no one everyone will be happy with.

Saban is old and on the decline. Nobody is scared of him anymore, especially a young coach like Aranda

Jesus Christ you have got to be kidding me

Two years ago a NC

Last year, one of the weakest teams, played for (and if Bama has its two starting WRs, wins) the NC

Has the #1 recruiting class this year, #2 last year (and God knows how many #1 classes before that)

and most likely wins the SEC and NC this year....

Some decline.......
