It isnt like football players work any harder than other athletes

This is sure to upset some folks. A while back on Tiger Rant there were more than a few people with the opinion that the softball and gymnastics teams didn't work or prepare as hard as the football team. Idiots.

Do some research on how much Saban brings in to the university in donations that are not just for football, them look at his salary, them tell me what % of that he gets paid. Would a salesperson take commissions on that % plan?

Do that same research on the TV Money that FB & MBB bring in and compare that to the bachelor's degree that they get

Or do you believe that all that TV Money is due to Saban's genius and none of it has to do with the Players elite talent?

The same thing you do for Saban simply do it for the Players also wrt the TV-Radio money

I doubt you will

What should be done is the NCAA should tell player that they are welcome to go to the NFL. The NFL is pros (getting pay) college football is amateur. Player can go to the NFL right out of high school. If a player hires a agent or goes to a NFL tryouts and get cut the player is no longer eligible for college. It that simple let the one's that want paid leave.

Now the NCAA is gonna step in and give them immediate eligibility, in fact the Conference might let them transfer in Conference

There you go again being all stupid and forgetting the actual FACTS of the situation. let them transfer within the conference, let the NCAA give them immediate eligibility, there is still NO OTHER SCHOOL going to give them 50% of the revenue. They are going to transfer and be in no better situation, they will still be sitting on the sidelines this fall......

DEAL WITH FACTS, DEAL WITH LOGIC, DEAL WITH HOW THE REAL WORLD WORKS, oh I am sorry, those things dont fit into your agenda so you just forget they exist.

A better question to ask is why don't the non Revenue Sports simply generate their own money and stop relying on WELFARE from FB & MBB?

A great way to silence many critics of the current system, is to have every Sport at the P5 Level operate at at LEAST a break-even Level based on their own merit in the FREE MARKET

What do you think they are purposely losing money on gymnastics, track and field, and women's basketball? It's easy for you so type on a keyboard and say they just need to not lose money, but actually doing that is a different story.

The problem with this is that its the NFL that doesn't allow players to enter the draft until after their Junior year. I think the actual rule is they have to be 21 by a certain date to enter the draft. So this isn't something for the NCAA to decide.

So you're going to find another article, which was not quoted, to make the poster look stupid?
Someone is going to look stupid alright

I'm going to find the Article with the ACCURATE ASK by the players

They never asked for 50% of all Revenue

The actual demands by the Pac12 Players

quote:

Fair Market Pay, Rights, & Freedoms

Distribute 50% of each sport’s total conference revenue evenly among athletes in their respective sports.

50% of Conference Revenue only include TV-Radio money, and maybe Conference Tourney money

The schools keep 100% of tickets, parking, concessions , merch, etc

The players NEVER said 50% of ALL REVENUES

Now go back thru this thread and see how many foaming mouth idiots repeated this incorrect info

No other sports will ever exist in college except football or men's basketball, it's that simple. Almost no other sports for any university is in the green and they cant force it to be that way if people arent going to the games and there's little to no tv money involved in it.

Fair is making decisions not based in any way shape or form based on race, gender, etc. as well as leaving it completely out of all discussion.

Life isn't fair. I'm only 5'8 and run about a 9.8 40 yard dash. I had to pay my own way through school. I demand action damnit!

On purpose or not is immaterial, the bottom line is , is the money generated or not

On purpose has nothing to do with it , can you run your entity at a break-even level and NOT rely on WELFARE from FB & MBB

Do you allow shoddy work from your subordinates in the real world and say, "well they didn't screw up ON PURPOSE, I guess I'll keep them on payroll"?

Your, "they didn't do it on purpose excuse is very weak"

They get some financial benefit by losing some money on the fringe sports, don't think they'd ever want to change that

I would be willing to bet the NFL would change that rule if something like this happen.

If you can find a way to pack 100K in a Stadium and help to generate $50 million dollars every year in TV-Radio Money at 5feet8 while running a 9.8 in the forty then I'll be on this site supporting you and demanding that you deserve a larger Stipend on top of your full scholly

Unlike most on this site, I am consistent and I have a strong internal moral compass that always points to fairness & righteousness

I got ya' back!!

No they won't, no 18 year old HS senior is NFL ready physically. Too many kids wouldn't get a chance then THAT wouldn't be fair and more change demanded
