Bo Nix’s confidence was pretty fricking impressive.

He played like a freshman making his first start last night and made some boneheaded plays but damn the kid just never fricking quit. He ran for his life and kept looking to make plays like it was backyard football instead of a huge opening matchup. He can learn to develop more consistency but he’s already got something you can’t teach.

Agree. He didn’t know enough to know he was in deep shite starting the second half.

He kept his spirits up and kept plugging along.

The most impressive thing is that the TEAM kept believing in him. They could have mailed it in but didn’t.

Nix at Auburn will be something to watch in the future but I can’t help his inexperience is going to cost them a game or two this year.

Respek. A huge statement from a first game player. He’s not very good now ( comparably) but he has the head to be GREAT.

We will surely lose some games with him making mistakes, and our oline struggling.

I am excited as fvck to have that kid as our QB though. Never been so excited about a qb despite a poor looking statline.

Seems like he has a high ceiling.

In what way did he overreact?

The only solace the rest of the SEC has is that Gus will ruin him by incessantly teaching him fake passes after handoffs, neglecting true development of real quarterback skills.

I've watched Nix start now at QB since he was in 8th grade as a varsity starting QB. 1 common trait is his grit & toughness. He's body holds up well on hard hits. Burrow for LSU much in the same mold of toughness.

You could kind of read his facial expression and eyes last night. It was a look of chiseling away at a problem, rather than getting frustrated that there was a problem. He'll be a good player.

Sad but true. Gus is a mess with QBs not named Cam.

He can only get better. For a freshman start against a pretty good team, it wasn't bad really.

Shut down the run game and you shut down Auburn's offense. Nix had a lot of terrible throws last night.

Nowhere near as polished as Tua and Fromm when they were freshman.

He looked like a freshman for nearly all of the snaps I saw - with flashes of brilliance.
Truthfully, 3/5 of his last drive passes were poopoo...

But

The game winner was a thing of beauty and grace, a call back to Flynn/Byrd on that magical night long ago, that hinted at what dude can do once he settles in.

That and, while his power is diminished, Gus is still a Sith Lord.

I only caught the end of the game but the game winning TD pass sure looked like an easy interception if the Oregon safety had one iota of ball skills.

Lots of poor throws and bad decisions.

Freshman in his first game, kind of expect some of that. If he still looks like that when they play LSU, it will get ugly.

no it wasn’t. If caught and tackled it is the end of the game. They got away with it but nothing about it was well executed
