It's even funnier seeing someone trying to justify Bo Nix as the best freshman in the SEC, when a lot of people don't even think he's the best freshman on his own team.

He did a lot of good things this year IMO.
Auburn still ended up 3rd in scoring offense and 4th in total offense for the SEC.
Having a freshman QB get through that schedule without self destructing by the end is an accomplishment. I thought he improved greatly as the season went on.
Yeah, he had some shaky moments but all in all, but I’m not down on him like many Auburn fans are. Still a ton of room to grow.

This is simply about a QB vs other positions...awards like this are slanted to a position like QB.

In this conference??? Bo Nix? He plays behind a 4/5* line...ought to be much better. Derek Stingley Jr. deserved the award. But how about a few others that certainly better than Nix. I'm biased, but what about Plumlee at Ole Miss who ran all over LSU. How did Bo do against the future National Champs. What about Ealy or Wanya Morris, the do everything stud from Tennessee? THAT DUDE IS A TOTAL STUD. There are a lot more deserving candidates than Bo Nix. So, he has a good game against Alabama...so have others this year. It doesn't mean he's better than Morris, Stingley, Plumlee, or Ealy.

You're locked into QB stats, and that's nice and all. Bo Nix is the 6th best QB in the SEC, based on stats.
Stingley is on the SEC second team as a CB and is certainly the best freshman CB in the conference. Bo Nix didn't make either 1st or second team SEC.
That's the argument.
Edit: And as I said before, I and others think Owen Pappoe had a better freshman campaign than Nix did for Auburn.
