General Neyland taught Bear Bryant everything he knows and that came from the horse's mouth.

Where is Bud Kilmer aka Rush Probst?

Eh, Bama has the best two coaches in CFB history.
But none of the other coaches with 3+ national titles coached at Alabama. And I think it takes three to be a blue-blood college football coach.
Bama doesn't need to exaggerate things. You can just point to Saban and Bear when it comes to coaches.

Wallace Wade's NC's = 1925, 1926, and 1930.
Frank Thomas = 1 NC in '34 and compiled a 115–24–7 record along with 4 SEC conference titles. Over a 15 year coaching tenure, his teams allowed an average of only 6 points per game to be scored against them. Blue Blood!

Howard Chappell
- Bama football player alongside Paul Bryant and Don Hutson
- HC of Deshler High School football. Stadium named after him. Deshler has been a long time Bama powerhouse. When I was in HS, they didn't lose an area game in the 90s.
- Bear used to travel up to Tuscumbia on the weekends to "help coach the defense." But, Howard really provided a spot to get sloshed for the weekend.
Bama legend. Better candidate for top 10 than Probst.

This is an obvious troll thread, but it’s also obvious that the state of Alabama owns CFB history. Bama would probably be enough but then add Auburn and it’s not close. Talk about love of a sport.
And yet Lanning and Norvell turned Bama down. They must be crazy!

Nobody said Auburn has blue blood coaches. Your arguments are always that arse

Wallace Wade may have 3 national titles with "Bama counting", but while pre-polling era championships are mostly bogus, most have Notre Dame as the champion in 1930. That is one of Knute Rockne's 3 titles. Wade is viewed as having 2 by most other than Alabama faithful. The CFRA is the only recognized selector that gives Bama a title in 1930, but that was group of voters who in 1982 went back and voted on who the champions were in prior season. Most weren't alive (and definitely weren't adults) in 1930.
The reality is most count Wade with two titles, not three. Almost nobody gives Bama the title in 1930. That's all notre dame and knute rokne.
And yes, Frank Thomas has 1 national title. That's not blue-blood terrain. Gene Chizik and Larry Coker each have one national title.
Note, Kirby is not there either. If he wins one more he'll be in the discussion. He really needs two more to actually be definitively there.
Look, Bama has a long list of coaches who've won national titles. They also have the two coaches with the most national titles in Saban and Bear. Just take the win rather than trying to exaggerate other guys.

This.
That's the list of coaches with 4+ national titles.
Saban - 7
Bryant - 6
Bierman - 5
Hayes - 5
Leahy - 4
McKay - 4
There are 9 more with 3 titles including a lot of big names. But those 6 are the royalty.

No Barry switzer? Multi national titles and a Super Bowl. For that matter jimmy johnson and petey carroll only got one natty but both also have a Super Bowl ring as head coach
