So you believed an anonymous poster's statement about what was going on in private negotiations? Wow.

An anonymous poster? This is what basically your whole fanbase was saying.

Did I believe them? No. That's why I'm saying now they are working on a new bullshite story to cover up the last one.

You can try to spin this all you want. Your school and your fanbase look like fools at the moment.

Why would anyone settle when someone clearly owes you the money.

You clearly care too much about what anonymous posters put on a message board. No one outside the negotiations has any insight.

Come on man, don’t hold back, tell us about it! I like hearing hearing net worth stories. Inspiring.

I mean it’s not impossible but a very terrible investment or even bailout for sure. If you say it, I won’t doubt you.

And he should get it, unless he decides he wants a lump sum payment.

This could make sense for him if the length of the payout was a long time like Powerball, but from what I’ve read it’s equal payments with the last due in 2031. There’s no financial advantage to taking a 20-30 million cut for only 6 years.

ETA- just saw your second post and agree. If LSU puts up a lump sum offer in the 40 range, that’s a conversation worth having for Kelly.

Im guessing LSU thought there was still
some Katrina money in the couch cushions.

You gotta think Kiffin, or any other potential candidate, doesn’t like the looks of a school trying to avoid paying a contract buyout.
Hasn’t been said but also bad look from a player/recruit standpoint.

If I’m in high school or transfer portal it’s hard to feel good about NIL offers with this in the news.

That might be just as, if not more, impactful as trying to hire a new coach. Whoever comes on is going to need some big gets in the portal.

If you use a reasonable 5%, the 54 million evenly disbursed over 6 years would indeed be about 46.5 today.

There may be some tax advantages in the smaller pmts overtime. But, yes, I agree. Not much of a chance he is willingly ceding 20-30 million.

I hope he gets it all. Maybe these school's will learn to stop the HC monetary arms races. And then, I hope he takes a $30 k a year analyst job to meet the terms of the contract if the installments remain.

Just a bad look.

That's just what I read in a thread on Tiger Rant. I happened to catch one of those threads that kept getting whacked with the guy's name. He's worth nearly $5B. Why he would pay it I have no idea. In my experience on this board, those are kinds of threads that have the real info in them. Of course that doesn't make it true.

The thing I'm most excited to see next is the fundraising efforts by LSU to fund a contract obligation that they appear unable to meet. Car washes... Candy bars... Golf tourneys... Bake sales... Coupon books...

My granddaughter’s middle school band uses ALL of these, plus an oyster roast happening next month

Apparently, it was BS or the check bounced, as BK's legal team is still waiting

I don't have a dog in the fight but if the university is not going to honor the contract they wrote and signed, why even have a contract?

Honor the contract!!

Yeah I gues I should have said it was one person that originally agreed to pay it. Who the frick knows what is really happening. I just want a coach that will have the team prepared to win football games. If we don't win because the other team was better, I can live with that. What pisses me off is when we don't have our shite together and get beat. We pay these frickers too much money for that bullshite.
