He's currently having his Monday presser.

I was hoping someone else would take the podium, but nope, he's definitely still here.

Our administration is fricking inept.

In the unlikely event you find yourself in NW Arkansas the first few rounds of drinks are on me.

They might be going after Stricklin first before laying the hammer down on Napier.

Florida is getting exactly what they deserve, and I couldn’t be happier to see it

This is probably the reason. They need an AD to make the hire. I can't imagine anyone wants Stricklin to make the hire.

Issues with firing a coach in September.

1) Roster would get poached before a coach is hired.
2) Interim could win a couple of games and you would feel the need to hire interim. (This almost never works out)
3) Recruiting class falls apart.

I get wanting a jump on talking to coaches but there is no reason to fire a coach before Nov. 1st for on the field results.

In the offseason FL fans said the administration was fully behind Napier and would give him more time regardless of outcome this year. What has changed?

Let's look at the rest of the Florida schedule

Bye
MSU (60-40 UF Wins)
UCF (50/50 at best)
UT Loss
UK (60/40 UK Wins)
UGA Loss
Texas Loss
LSU Loss
Ole Miss Loss
FSU (50/50?)

Best case - Florida goes 5-7
Worst case - Florida goes 2-10

He is likely fired after their next loss, whether it be Mississippi State, UCF, or Tennessee.

You know they are going to get absolutely dog walked by Tennessee, Texas, Georgia, LSU and Ole Miss. Do you let him finish the gauntlet, or do you doom an interim coach to go 1-8 / 0-9?

Let me say this about the University of Florida at this point. No University has made more bad head coach hires than Florida's AD, period. You guys haven't got one right since being on Urban time. Napier can't leave nor should he leave that place without the stupid AD that hired him. I'd fire the dude based sorely on the OOC schedule this season. No SEC team should have to navigate those deep waters.

Was asked specifically about "play calling" and its still "we gotta get going on the run game."

I was a big time Billy supporter and I still like him on a personal level. He's level headed, he doesn't lose his temper in games, he doesn't call out players or pound tables like a purple gremlin.

But Lord have mercy, THIS was the time to state some changes if he wants to save his job (won't happen unless there is an absolute miracle and they get at least 8 wins). No speaking of "I screwed up. I'm moving Enos to OC. I can't do it anymore." Nothing.

For all of Stricklands faults, the sports programs as a whole are killing it. But football is awful. That's the money sport. I do not think they let Strickland go and I don't think its the right move. Boo me all you want. There are far worse ADs out there.

I agree with the earlier poster that now is not exact right time to fire a coach. After the Moo State there might be some more talks as to WHEN to execute an already forgone conclusion.

Speculation is going to turn in to full blown Grumors. I think the top three coaches are Kiffin, Drink, and Fisch. And I think each would do well at UF.

Thought it very unlikely he'd be publicly canned before mid season but I suspect everyone knows the score now.

Doesn't matter who the OC is this season. Oline is a cheese grater.
