He was on Finebaum the other day and gave his thoughts on the national championship picture heading into next year. Based on what the schools have coming back, as well as how they recruited this past year, he believes the five schools that can win it all are as follows:

Alabama
Clemson
Georgia
LSU
Ohio State

I agree with this and can't imagine a school other than these five actually winning the national championship. But stranger things have happened.

One team does not belong.

College football has essentially become the SEC along with Ohio State and Clemson. USC needs to get the right coach in place.

UGA has the talent to do it. They always fall a little bit short. They belong on the list

I can’t imagine why Florida would be left off of that list. Have to believe they will be favored to win the east this year.

I'd put UGA and UF with one foot in and one foot out of the group in contention.

Kirby has issues and a new QB and offense and UF is returning quite a bit unless I'm mistaken.

Hard to disagree, probably a greater than 90% probability one of those 5 teams wins it all.

Big 12 and PAC-12 just arent competitive right now (despite OU's free pass to CFB Playoff every year, they just rarely seem to actually belong there), only Ohio State is challenging nationally in B10 and Clemson in ACC.

I’m with you. Mullen is somehow still very underrated as a coach, if Florida can beat Georgia they are probably going 12-0.

My prediction for last year was the same 5 plus Oklahoma. In 2020 I do not see Oklahoma winning it but with little competition in the Big12 they will probably be in the playoff for a 4th straight year where anything can happen. You can maybe add Florida too.

I guess they've finally accepted the fact that Oklahoma will never win it

Best chance to win it all in 2020 (in my opinion)

1. Clemson
2. Ohio State
3. Alabama
4. Georgia
5. LSU

Dark horses:

1. Florida
2. Texas
3. Auburn
4. Texas A&M
5. Oklahoma

Nice edit

Any reason why you had UGA above Gumps? Both will be breaking in new QB's. Both lost a boatload to the draft.
