Yeah, Saban had nothing to do with hiring Kiffin, desiring and welcoming the offensive change, and managing Kiffin's immature arse.

Good Lord. Some of the shite you guys make up is unreal.

What exactly did I say that was made up? It goes without saying that Saban sought the offensive change or he wouldnt have hired Kiffin. But Kiffin absolutely deserves credit for Alabama's permanent change

I see no reason why Saban couldn't have had the same success at LSU as Alabama, Alabama doesn't necessarily have something that LSU doesn't.

BAMA owns death valley. Annexed in 1970. Coach Saban figured it out.

What exactly does that have to do with my statement?

What if Will Wade wasn't a dumbass and let someone else talk on the phone instead of him? Who would be the Rant's favorite coach to bash?

A smart coach takes the extra SEC home game where he can get it.

What if Tim Tebow played for Alabama?

Alabama’s Mike Shula was turning his program around and had developed a nice relationship with Tebow through the recruitment process.

In the end, Tebow would stay close to home, join the Florida Gators and win two national championships along with a Heisman Trophy.

Let’s speculate how things might have played out had Tebow gone to Alabama over Florida…

1. The Chris Leak led championship of 2006 would likely not have happened.
2. Florida might have had a different Heisman Trophy Winner and Championship Quarterback: Cam Newton.
3. Urban Meyer might have remained at Florida longer.
4. Auburn doesn’t have a national championship in 2010.
5. Gus Malzahn would never have been the head coach Auburn.
6. Nick Saban never comes to Alabama.
7. Tim Tebow never becomes one of the best college football players of all time
8. No statue, no engraved speech on the stadium in Gainesville.

What if Paul Dietzel had stayed at LSU - LSU might have won it all in 1962 for a NC. LSU and BAMA would have dominated the SEC through the 1960s and 1970s.

“What if” UGA kept Fields from going to OSU? Does UGA go onto to win atleast 1 Natty?

Justin couldn’t even figure out which direction to hand the ball off at UGA, so I don’t think they’re winning any more with him.

What if AU gets a stop in the "Earthquake Game" in '88?
That was Dye's best team, and they would have been undefeated and outright SEC champs. AU was #4 going into Death Valley that night, trailing only Miami, USC and UCLA, all of whom would lose in the coming weeks. Eventual #1 Notre Dame was #5 that week.

The Irish would have likely leapfrogged AU after beating the Hurricanes a couple of weeks later, and would probably have played an AU team that would have been no lower than #3 rather than risking a rematch with likely #2 Miami (just as they ended up doing in the Fiesta with undefeated but unimpressive West Virginia), giving AU a shot at the MNC.

"What If" may very well be the only way to describe the results vs the amount of talent Dye accumulated during the 80s.

It's easy to be a bagman, a lot harder to actually coach.

I think the biggest one in the conference's history is what if Bear Bryant stayed at Kentucky. He continues on here while Rupp kept doing his thing....this conference would look VERY different today.

This makes no sense. If Tebow doesn't play great for Bama like he did at UF, Shula still gets canned.

“What if” bama wasn’t allowed to give recruits cars and bags of cash?

Would that change the college football playoffs?

Because his record at Alabama was okay, other than against Auburn, people don't remember how perplexing of a hire Curry was. Guy was 31-43-4 at Georgia Tech. 5-5-1 the season before he was hired at Alabama.
