I am a traditionalist. Dump the four new teams. Bring back Tulane and Georgia Tech. Leave the rest alone.

I like all additions personally, I think Virginia Tech would have been a good addition as well, I would actually take both Virginia schools as there are a lot of viewers in VA.

Why the Big 12 has not invited UCF and Cincinnati is baffling to me.

We went to 12 so we could have an SECCG.

Yes, but if we had stayed at 10, we could all play each other with a 9-game conference schedule, and starting about 2 or 3 years ago we would have started up a Championship Game between the two top teams like the Big 12 did.

There would be zero talk of unequal schedules. Every SEC team would play everyone. That would be glorious.

Imagine Alabama and Georgia playing every year.... along with Alabama and Florida.... Auburn and Florida.... Auburn and Tennessee... etc.

We would have far more great regular season games, that's for sure.

3. SEC Expanding Past 10

By expanding to 12 that gave us the opportunity to have the SECCG. Which was the first step towards a playoff system. As other conferences added the extra game, we got the BCS. Though far from perfect it was much better than the previous system. Then we had BCS busters and undefeated SEC team left out in 2004, and the nail in the coffin for the bcs was the Bama LSU rematch in 2011, which has lead us to playoffs. My point is that the path to the playoffs started inn 1992 with the SECCG, and I regret nothing.

Would be a rough conference for football. Basically just taking out four mediocre to bad programs - Missouri, South Carolina, Arkansas and A&M, and leaving all the good ones.

There would still be Vandy, State, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Tennessee.

One of the big schools from TX and either FSU or Miami were the original targets for SEC expansion. We know for a fact that FSU chickened out and joined the ACC ( https://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/os-xpm-1990-09-16-9009160264-story.html). I suspect the powers that be in TX cockblocked A&M.

We need at least one private school for FOIA so Vandy stays.
Need UK for basketball.

I really don't get all the Mizzou shade, but whatever. I don't feel that way, but not much I can do about it.

But I'll tell you this, if I had a magic button to reset everything to when Carolina first joined the SEC, I would.

I hate this playoff crap. And the BCS before it.

I wanna go back to the old Big 8/Orange Bowl, SEC/Sugar/Open, etc system.

Screw the new age. I've seen both, and the old way was infinitely better.

Love to see the Nebraska/Oklahoma game back. Lots of others.

Get off my lawn.

To this day, I never understood why the Big 8 invited four Texas schools instead of just inviting Texas and Texas A&M. Baylor and Texas Tech are essentially dead weight. They don’t bring new markets and they didn’t have particularly great football or basketball programs. Plus adding four Texas schools gave Texas way too much power which ultimately caused the disintegration of the conference.

I didn't say leaving only good ones, just leaving all the good ones.

I do actually wish we could just drop Mizzou and A&M and go back to 12 teams. I miss CFB from when I was growing up. Despite it's flaws I enjoyed the BCS, but I'd like to see how a playoff shakes out with old conference ties.

There would not have been a strong SEC without T.V. Market from the States of Texas and Missouri. Many of you do not get the important of T.V. market!

Biggest Conference Realignment Regrets

1. Rutgers to the Big 10

Man, they were nowhere without any history past being the first CFB game. Now they are in the B1G cashing a big check and laughing all the way to the bank. How in the hell was a bad thing to Rutgers? Christ they are probably jumping for joy getting a lifeboat to the P5. Without that life boat they might be in the FCS.

3. SEC Expanding Past 10

They were at 13 in the beginning but settled down to 12 with Tulane and Georgia Tech. If they had stayed that way you could have the SEC CCG, but they left. Adding anybody to get to 12 meant the SEC CCG and a real spot in the MNC hunt every year. How was 12 a bad thing for all the $$$$ and exposure.

Biggest Conference Realignment Regrets

Breaking up a bunch of classic rivalries like Pitt/WVU, Kansas/Missouri, Texas/A&M, and BYU/Utah (although they've been playing non-conference for the last few years) was beyond stupid.
