I care about college football and this is unprecedented. It doesn't matter the institution. Sark was 100% correct except for his stupid my 2nd and 3rd string could go undefeated comment. Their schedule was a joke, they know it, and it’s ridiculous it was treated with any type of respect. They got lucky the committee lied about SoS.

Yes, players are FLOCKING to Tech because they just love it there.. has nothing to do with money.

You do know Tech has one of the highest rated QBs coming next year. ut hates that Tech is out recruiting them for some players now.

Yes, we wanted that QB.. good get.. but I hardly even care about recruiting now. We’ll get who get outta HS and the portal and so will a lot of other teams. You are over inflating our opinion of your recruiting..

It isn’t just you.. I don’t even care if a guy picks OU or A&M these days.. maybe he stays and plays against us.. maybe he doesn’t.. but whoever we’re facing will be good.. and our guys will be good too..

I thought I might miss playing Tech or OSU..but I don’t ever think about it.. It isn’t that I think y’all are above us or below us.. I just don’t care. I’d rather play OU, A&M, Arkansas, LSU, Tennessee, Florida, Ohio State, Ole Miss.. yes we play all of them this year.. and some others.

But I’ll throw you a bone. I’d rather play Tech or the Pokes than Mizzou.. well not Tech until you fix this problem.. but you get my point.

This really may be the only way to bring rogue programs under control until a new enforceable rules system in in place.

Nebraska outraged and not scheduling Tech. That’s rich. The same Nebraska that played a convicted felon Lawrence Phillips in a championship bowl game. Spare me your righteous indignation.
Again Sorsby hasn’t even played a down for Tech yet. Maybe never will. He did play for Indiana and Cincinnati. And at least one knew for sure he was gambling but didn’t tell anyone.

Yes, tech is doing pretty good at some stuff. It’s finally fair to buy players for non-blue bloods.. that being said Tech is about to bury themselves with this latest thing on the quarterback so it’s gonna be funny if they get kicked out out of the big 12 or something crazy.

Surely Texas Tech is not that stupid and they will cut bait with Sorsby before anything like that happens, but I guess you never know.

This is less about Tech and more about the Universities as a whole allowing the NCAA to be rendered hollow and facilitating the bastardization of amateur athletics in the name of greed. The schools collectively did this. Tech just gave it the final push.

You also need to do a fact check because he never bet on games he played in

Really?

Brendan Sorsby placed at least 40 bets involving Indiana football as a quarterback for the Hoosiers, used sportsbook accounts registered to a family member and friends to wager approximately $90,000 over four years, and continued to gamble after transferring from Cincinnati to Texas Tech in December, according to court documents filed Friday.

Has anyone actually read the ruling? It’s wild. The judge’s core argument is that consequences to breaking laws and rules are not ok because they cause irreparable harm. He’s rendering the entire judicial system null and void. What an idiot.

Cincy was informed about his gambling from I think a gambling website. Documented. Cincy said they gave him counseling but kept playing him. Now they are trying to cover their butts.
Indiana may or may not have known but Cincy sure did because of THEIR own previous statements. Now it’s deny, deny, deny. Can’t take back the earlier statements

I’m amazed Texas Tech officials allowed this to happen. What possible outcome did they expect? The kid was a habitual gambler and they still brought him to Lubbock. What arrogance!!

The PR from this will damage Tech immensely. Any idea Tech had of becoming part of the new upcoming SUPER league has died.

What an idiot move by Tech.

Yes

It’s an absolute complete joke

So Sorsby has been playing sports for his entire life, so 20 years at least and the judge thinks he needs to play again this year because that’s gonna benefit him and make him all better so all those other years were different somehow alrighty!

Again, Tech didn’t not know of his gambling when they signed him. They ruled him ineligible when they found out. Asked for an appeal which is pretty standard. Doesn’t hurt to ask. Sorsby is the one who lawyered up (a really good lawyer) and took this to court. He has never even played a game at Tech. Maybe never will but all these postings like people know the facts are a joke. Can’t make up your own facts but people do on this board.

You know if you’re gonna pay a guy $5 million maybe you should do a thorough background check.

Don’t disagree but evidently he took measures to hide it. Cincy knew though but still played him. Didn’t bother to tell Tech. Conference does so I guess that’s understandable

You still don’t get it. He gambled on college football. TT should have removed him permanently from team and made a statement about integrity of sport and won’t tolerate gambling. Instead they fought for him and now have their fans doing their bidding. Disgraceful.
