The Rose Bowls are a different story. You can have a legit discussion on whether we should claim those or not.
Titles like '63 and '73 I don't see how anyone can say we shouldn't claim those if one of the top 2 polls awarded it to us.

They shouldn't claim 41 or 73 but should claim 66. I believe maybe 75 or 77 when they were 2nd going into the bowls. They defeated Ohio St. 35-6, The number 1 team Texas lost to #6 Notre Dame and Notre Dame jumped from 6th to 1st while Bama remained 2nd. So drop 41 & 73 and replace with 66& 77

Considering we were undefeated and won the SEC, I honestly wouldn't be upset if our University claimed '41. I'm glad they don't because in all honesty who cares, but the team probably deserves it.

the FACT is, all NC's before the BCS era and esp those awarded by some obscure sports publication are pretty much bull shite. that's why for many years there has been MORE THAN ONE NATIONAL CHAMPION.
but I think bama should claim the NC this year. why the hell not? most people understand that many bama fans have to do stuff like that, esp the non bama graduates. it defines who they are.

Claiming 1941 is highly dubious, because none of the major polls put us #1 and wasn't close. We were awarded one semi-legit poll which does not support a championship claim on its own, in my opinion.
We did not win 1966. You can make every argument for why we SHOULD have won it, but it's a poll system and we were not awarded the title by the polls. Unfair, IMO, but as you said, it was the system in place at the time.

In 1964 and 1973 The University of Alabama claims national championships those years and they lost both of the bowl games. If 1941 is the only iffy national championship you see than you have a lot of problems.

We should definitely share this years title since Bama was up 21-6. That means Bama is technically the better team. Amarite!?!?!
