Neither.

Auburn's hire would've been better had he not had an in state rival.

Does it matter? They’ll both get fired within five years.

I think we all know right now. Auburn’s gonna bottom dwell with Arky for many years to come.

Welcome to the SEC. You obviously know nothing about it.

I forgot Auburn had hired someone

Harsin could be good and it’ll be interesting to see how Sark has evolved as a HC.

Sark is a really good OC. I don’t know about head coach, especially at a school like Texas with meddlesome boosters everywhere.

I think I like Auburns. This whole SEC mentality that the coach needs Southern ties is nonsense. Saban nor Meyer had them when they came. Elite coaches can win here. They just have to be that...elite

They did. It explains why he didn't even interview at AU. I found it strange at the time that he wouldn't even consider it, but it makes sense now.

Neither seems like a very good hire. Time will tell ...

Don't think anyone can really say.

Sark was a below average head coach at two programs. You're banking on his ability to call offense with a ton of 4 and 5 stars is going to make him a good head coach this time around.

Harsin was an above average coach in a conference with little competition.

Neither of these things say anything about how they're going to do at their next stops to me.

Not sure, time will tell.

But, my guess is that Sark was higher on the board for AU than Harsin. And, it took a Bama raise to keep him.

Utx was a better job opportunity. Out of the SEC West, no UGA every year, and less complete rebuild with perks of being the flagship college in a talent laden state.

I think that's spot on. Texas had a plan;
go for Sark and perhaps another target and if he/they
didn't jump, stick with Herman for another season.

I'd have to go with UT.

G5 to P5 is an iffy proposition these days.

Tom Herman-flop
Mike Norvell-flop
Butch Jones-flop
Willie Tagart-flop
Derek Dooley-flop

Mike Kelly is probably the only a
active/recent success story.Other than him almost every recent successful P5 hire has been a P5 asst or HC (Kirby,Lincoln Riley,Ryan Day,Jimbo,Mack Brown)

For whatever reason it seems to be a more successful route.

Too early to tell on Norvell. Dude has been at FSU for one season and a season of COVID. I mean come on. Gotta give him a few years.

Natives are extremely restless in Tallahassee.

He needs to make significant improvement next year.

His recruiting was beyond horrible this year.I don't believe he finished in the top 30.

You tell me?

Well damn I know some HS coaches Auburn should have gone after instead of Harsin if no context winning percentage is the most important metric.
