She is definitely studied, but you're competely right -- her voice is just terrible. It's like a radio DJ woman trying to sound like a man.
And we might have different NPR stations, because when I listen to it, it sounds like everyone is on Valium.

Part of being a play by play announcer is not having a voice that makes people want to shove ice picks in their ears. In that regard, she is not great at her job.

Its that one tone of her voice that kills me. No matter what is happening its the same annoying tone. She does know her shite so maybe she could be auto-tuned to make her less annoying

Mowins is terrible and her voice is unbearable. When I hear her calling a game I literally change the channel immediately or put it on mute. If you want to appease the femi-nazi crowd, at least hire an attractive chick who is good at her job. I could handle someone like Laura Rutledge, although I personally prefer dudes who have actually played the game and know what they’re talking about.
