When Big East Brian couldn't get them a BCS or CFP win, I was told it was because of Notre Dame's academic requirements or something.

Just going by their record, in a 12 team format they'd have almost certainly been there in:
2015 (10-2)
2018 (12-0)
2019 (10-2)
2020 (10-1)
2021 (11-1)

Literally, Freeman has not improved their position at all. After they get destroyed by UGA, he will have brought them exactly nowhere improved from where BK had them.
3 years before Freeman final ranking:
5, 8, 5 (AVG 6)
3 years with Freeman:
18, 14, 5 (AVG 12.33)

Let's not glaze ND for beating this Indiana team. Indiana has gotten waxed by the only 2 decent teams they've played.
