I have to agree with you. Sunshine has tremendous athletic talent. But he is an average QB at best when playing top end talent. And if there had not been a busted coverage at the end of the semi final game he would have been sitting at home. Chuck and duck. Not impressed.

My homer response is 1950, 1995, 1996, 99(maybe) and 2001 Tenneseee Teams.

Outside of Tennessee Teams.

Auburn 1993 and 2004.

Florida had some wild teams. 1993 and 1994 and the tragic downfall of Terry Dean. 2009 with football Jesus.

LSU for the last decade plus. All those defenses wasted because the offensive schemes hated the forward pass more than Woody Hayes.

Georgia 2012 and 2017

1966 Bama team and civil rights implications. Great debate topic. Throw in 2016 to.

Ole Miss........59.....LSU y’all got this? Haha

1984 Gators. Got off to a slow start, but were a juggernaut by the end of the season. Although they cheated and paid the price, you can’t deny the product on the field

Are you sure you don't mean a horribly flawed interpretation of the targeting rule?

I think that was also a terrible call as well. I am all for player safety, but damn.

It's one thing to be a homer, but this is stupid.

The 2012 A&M secondary consisted of Dustin Harris, Deshazor Everett, Howard Matthews and Steven Terrell. Aside from Terrell, none of the others would stand a chance against 2019 LSU's receivers.

Taylor Bertolet was the placekicker. Taylor "I can't make a fricking extra point to save my life" Bertolet.

2019 LSU's offense would wear out the 2012 A&M defense due to the fact that there was absolutely no depth after the starters. NONE.

Downvote all you want, but when four defensive starters were out against Louisiana Tech, the defense gave up 57 points. That's almost 2x the next highest number of points allowed that season in any one game.

Because no other teams ever have injuries or starters out.

2012 A&M had zero depth on defense. There was a precipitous drop off once Damontre Moore, Spencer Nealy, Sean Porter, Jonathan Stewart, Dustin Harris and Steven Terrell left and their shitty backups became starters in 2013. Those six players plus Deshazor Everett and Kirby Ennis were able to mask the failures of the other mediocre players.

You won’t get any discussion from most LSU fans with your analysis and actual fact based conversation. You make good points and I agree with you. In make believe land, it would have been a sight to see Manziel and Burrow sling it all over the field. LSU guys, would you say the 2012 defense was significantly better than the 2019 version?

1960 Missouri isn’t an sec team.

Finishing 4th doesn’t make them one of the greats to never win. They were an ok team in a terrible division

Terrible division with a South Carolina team that finished ranked 5th

The 2013 SEC East was the ONLY Division that year to finish with 2 top 5 teams

Meanwhile LSU couldn’t even beat Ole Miss and Georgia, two teams we stomped

2016 Bama was better than 2018 Bama. They absolutely destroyed good teams. Beat a USC team that finished ranked third in the polls by 46 points. Also beat a top 15 Florida team by 38 points in the SEC Championship Game. The 2016 defense, special teams, coaching, running game were all better than the 2018 team. The only thing the 2018 team did better was have a much better passing game with Tua at QB and the incredible fleet of receivers. If Tua was the QB on the 2016 team, the greatest college football team of all-time wouldn’t even be a debate.
