No. 2 no more: Auburn stunned at home by Arkansas

"They came in here and pretty much dominated on the ground," Auburn safety Eric Brock said. "We really have no excuses. I'm pretty much shocked by our performance.

"They pretty much beat us at our own game," he said.

That game made Boom extremely angry. In fact, his name was founded on their payback game in Fayetteville the following season when they stuffed DMac's arse and stole one on the road.

Oh yeah, I was at that Talley game. First and only trip to Aubbie. Recall having a very hot and intoxicated date that annoyed my Aub neighbors throughout the beatdown. God I miss livining in ATL.

85% of the coaches in college would have had that team in the Natty. Such a good team. Such a bad coach.

Didn't matter who the coach was, the road to a title would've ended in Atlanta.

Edit: Or y'all would've fricked it up against Ohio St like you eventually did anyhow.

Listing a game that didn't occur at an impact venue is going to automatically be discounted.

Complete list of impact venues in the SEC:

1. Death Valley
2. Jordan-Hare Stadium at Pat Dye Field at Chizik Memorial windbreaker logo
3. Ben Hill Griffin Stadium at Florida Field (soon to be Spurrier Field)

That's it. That's the list. So pick a game where a road team came in and got a big win in those environments.

Not an impact venue. Good win, but anyone can win there, and many of them overcome large deficits to do so.

Ole Miss vs. Alabama 1988

This as far as I know is the only game that Ole Miss has beaten Bama in Alabama.

quote:

FRIDAY FLASHBACK rewinds to some of the memorable Ole Miss games from this week's all-time series. As the Rebels travel to Tuscaloosa to face the Crimson Tide, we step back two decades to a proud day for Ole Miss in its visiting state. Nationally-ranked Alabama was celebrating homecoming and held dedication ceremonies for the Paul W. Bryant Museum, but that energy would not slow down the upstart Rebels. The following is the Clarion-Ledger's account of the events of Oct. 8, 1988.

quote:

No more consolation speeches and talk of effort and hypothesizing about what might have happened.

This time, the Ole Miss Rebels finally did it.

quote:

“This was one of the biggest wins in Ole Miss history,” said Rebels coach Billy Brewer.

quote:

“If there ever could be a bigger one, I’d be proud to be on the team that had a bigger one,” said offensive coordinator Red Parker, who spent 23 years as a head coach.

quote:

“Everybody said, Hey we’re going to make history today,’” said fullback Joe Mickles. “And we did.”

Best SEC road win of all time2001 Tennessee at Florida 17.5 point underdogs

If you're going by the pre-game betting lines, i.e. biggest upset, there are several that are much bigger than that one. For example, LSU, a 28-point underdog, beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa in 1993. Also, I'm not sure how big an underdog Arkansas was at Tennessee in 1992, but it had to be a pretty big one.

I REALLY don't know about that.
I wouldn't mind it, but there's still an awful lot of butthurt over Spurrier leaving and then turning us down again.

Don't be mad that stadium doesn't have a disgusting breaded and fried smell permeating from it.
Hope you are in that venue this year to see your team taken over a knee and broken.

Time heals all wounds. Also, Reidel Anthony never choked him and Bob Stoops.

Last time I was at that venue, it was quiet like a church during a funeral, and I was almost drowned by the tears of unfathomable sadness. No one is intimidated by that house. That's why 3 touchdown leads disappear there. It's also why the home team takes a knee to go to overtime there
