TWO different schools

TWO elite football schools. Spurrier just dominated while at UF and has turned the definition of a mediocre of a football program into a division-winning team that will be one of the favorites to win it back to back. Not to mention he won an ACC title at Duke.

Spurrier is also 3-1 against Saban, beating him at LSU and at Bama.

Two elite schools who were as down as two schools could be when he took them over.

But still names that recruit themselves. Spurrier has quite literally turned the culture of this place on its head. He (along with the AD that came along in the same time) have made undeniable obvious efforts to build this program and create pride for what little history we had.

As I said, don't get me wrong, I have tons of respect for Spurrier , he's a legend. Just can't get over the fact that Saban has revived TWO major programs into title winners .

Florida was NOTHING before spurrier got there and he turned them into a machine that is still going today. Alabama and LSU already had tradition and name appeal before Saban got there.

I'll say Spurrier, but I'll probably put Saban on top if he wins another title.

Spurrier did more to change the way the game was played in the SEC than Saban has (i.e. the prominence of the passing game in a historically run oriented conference). There is almost a clear line of demarcation in the pre-Visor and post-Visor eras. And, Spurrier awoke the sleeping giant that is UF football and is as responsible as anyone for it being the juggernaut it is today.
But, I'm not sure too many people besides the Nicktator could deal with the pressure and intensive scrutiny that being the HC at Bama entails.
Tossup between the Visor and the Nicktator. I'm sure Gator fans are forever grateful to the Ol' Ball Coach, and I wouldn't trade Saban for anyone else at Bama.

I think when history is written Miles will be ahead of Sabin, but not Spurrier. But only time will tell.
